Should I ever be struck by a bus and live, chances are the first thing I'll say upon being revived will be, "Forget about me! How's Stacy Valentine?" To put it mildly, I'm a fan. And why shouldn't I be? She's a got super heroine's body, a sweet and wild attitude, and she willingly does all those things I secretly want women to be doing. Unfortunately, she's never done those things to me. VCA, however, puts itself in the position of being my personal Mr. Rourke as their Chasing Stacy DVD suggests my fantasy might come true after all. I have to admit, considering they don't know just how perverse or elaborate my fantasies can be, they've done a fantastic job.
As a virtual sex title, Chasing Stacy gets the job done, and done well. But it's more than just a "sex simulation." It's a game, and a mini greatest hits compilation, as well. The conceit here is that you follow (stalk) Stacy from early in the morning while she's having her first cup of coffee, then throughout the day as she's running her errands. If you pick the right opportunity to ask her out (by hitting a button), she'll warm up to your advances and go on a date with you. And if you can behave yourself over dinner, you're rewarded with what you really bought the DVD for in the first place--sex with Stacy Valentine.
You're not obligated to go on the chase or sit through dinner; you're free to skip right to the sex. After the first couple of times you play the game, this is probably where you want to be anyway. The first person sex scenario is well done. You pick what you want Stacy to do, and then she does it. And while she's doing it, you can dial up her enthusiasm. So, can either do you coquettishly, intensely, or like a wild animal in heat. I prefer the maximum setting--go figure. What's more, with the push of a button, you choose the moment she cums or you can push a different button and the guy on screen will cum for you. Talk about lazy Americans; in what other country are people so lazy that they want someone else to have their orgasms? All this is good stuff, though. I was particularly pleased to see the extreme close up of Stacey's orgasmic face when she's getting off.
Like I said, there's more than just the fantasy sex. There's also the date, in which Stacy chatters on and on while we wait patiently for the main event. Those with short attention spans can rest easy, however, because through flashbacks we get to see Stacy in scenes from some of her other movies. And during the chasing part of the game, you'll be rewarded with similar footage if you just remain patient.
The only drawback to this kind of DVD is that it hinges so much on make believe. There's nothing a shiny disc can do to really make us believe we're fucking a beautiful porn star. Then again, I don't have to worry about ironing a shirt for our date or wondering if it matches my pants. I've got a good imagination, and Chasing Stacy makes it easy to play along. You have to know going into something like this that the intention is not to give you a substitution for Stacy Valentine, but to give you something that will do a good job of sparking your imagination. After all, isn't that the purpose of porn, anyway? Given all the options afforded to us by Chasing Stacy, I can't think of another DVD that does this job better. With the combination of the virtual sex stuff, the traditional porn footage, and the novelty of the game, I'm left as happy as I can be.
I suspect there will be similar releases from VCA, and hopefully soon. It's easy to understand why they'd want to stick with the same format and use different actresses, but I hope they continue to come up with new ideas for the game portion of the disc. Maybe a game where you have to play the part of a male porn star and you get to pick the girls you want to work with. Meanwhile, you can't cum too quick or you'll ruin the scene, and if you go too long then the crew gets angry because their catered lunch is getting cold. And you have to work harder because your partner was hoping to be paired with Eric Everhard and got you instead. Then there's somebody on the set who won't turn his cell phone off when you're trying to do your dialogue, and....
Well, on second thought, what you've got here with Chasing Stacy works just fine.
