Ultimate Pictures Tells... The Naked Truth Review

Ah, the porn review--if ever there was a better forum to turn a witty phrase or author a double entendre, I've yet to see it. But, I'm not gonna do it. Not here. Clever porn editorializing requires a certain amount of inspiration, and unfortunately The Naked Truth doesn't provide it. That's a shame, really, because it could. Ashton Moore is really a pretty girl, and Danielle Rogers looks as good as ever, but they're both held back in favor of...well, I don't know why they're held back. Their performances are so diluted here that they're damn near sublime. I know that it's not fair to ask for the hardest, filthiest action from a couple's oriented feature, but I'd like to think that couples who are adventurous enough to watch porn together are at least adventurous enough to choose hot porn. That said, The Naked Truth can be attractive to look at--like a bowl of fruit. But you know what? You can't jerk off to a bowl of fruit.

Ashton Moore plays the part of an A-list mainstream movie star, who while performing a love scene in her latest big budget film, lets her lust get the best of her and performs the deed for real. Of course, this taking place in front of a crew and several cameras, there is now a filmed record of her indiscretion. Where there's a film reel featuring a movie star sucking dick and getting fucked, there are blackmailers, gossip mongers, and unscrupulous producers. Actually, this all sounds like a smart set-up for a fun adult movie, but it's not executed like one. It comes off as sterile...mannered even. So often I hear adult directors talk about the importance of chemistry between performers, but here there's very little chemistry to be found. The mechanics of each sex scene kept reminding me that this was a produced affair, and not something that's happening naturally with the onscreen talent.

Moore is beautiful, I'll give her that. And one instantly feels a certain amount of jealousy of Ian Daniels who gets her in the opening scene. Director Nick Orleans, however, seems to care more about his slow motion cutaway reaction shots than he does for the fast paced action that should be happening in bed. It all looks good aesthetically, but that doesn't mean it's hot. It's a mistake, in my opinion, to confuse pretty with sexy.

Danielle Rogers returns from a self imposed porn exile, but is used only once, and in a lesbian scene at that. There's nothing wrong with a well shot girl/girl moment, but often I find them to be wasted opportunities. The same can be said, unfortunately, for the other scenes in The Naked Truth, lesbian or otherwise. Shay Sweet paired with Tony Martino is a waste, despite her fresh good looks. Moore returns for an uninspired session with pumped up Brick Majors, and even though Azlea Antistia's sexuality is damn near tangible, her assault on Majors ends things on more of a whimper than a bang.

Besides looking nice and being packaged well, The Naked Truth offers very little to sell itself. Apparently, sexual heat is the first casualty of a crew who's first goal is to not offend its audience. But isn't excitement the whole purpose of an adult movie, anyway?
