Initial Expectations: Caribbean Undercover was a very impressive DVD, so I’m expecting much the same here.

Initial Reaction: It’s a great couples feature!

Who Should Watch It : Couples who like exotic locations, romantic settings, and a bit of slightly fetish style sex

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who just wants plain old vanilla couples sex

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very clear and well balanced throughout the feature. There is a bit of dubbing, but there’s also a bit of video that’s slowed slightly for a romantic effect which requires the audio be dubbed. The video is very clear out to the edges, and very nicely lit. The colors seem very vivid and realistic. The only complaint I can make about the video is a few minor specs in the picture which probably came from a spec of dust on the lens.

Music: Once again, Saint provides the music for this Adam & Eve feature. I’m a bit fan of his work, and he really does a great job here keeping things nice and sexy. It’s normally very nicely balanced with the rest of the audio, and really enhances the scenes nicely.

Menus: The main menu has a little animation to start it off with a nice and sexy feel. The chapter menu is pretty standard and only offers a small clip of the scene and a title to let you choose.

Disc Problems / Complaints: This is one of the DVDs where you can’t turn off Adam & Eve’s Hot Shot feature, which means you get a little icon in the corner throughout the entire feature. This is annoying almost from the start, but I have to give Adam & Eve credit for admitting they made a bit of a mistake and changing it so that it can be turned off in other features.

The Feature: Tera Patrick and Evan Stone have been feeling the need for a little stress release. They meet Mickey G. and Jessica Drake, another couple on the island, and are immediately drawn to their openness. On the island, Evan and Tera, as well as everybody else, explores their sexual fantasies, and does what they can to help each other explore their fantasies. No, this isn’t one where you’re going to need to keep a cheat sheet to keep up with plot points, but it does provide a nice framework for some good fucking.

Sex Island is a very nicely done feature that shows that couples features don’t have to be dull.

As with Caribbean Undercover, the most impressive extra is the behind the scenes feature, which lasts eighty nine minutes. Since both Sex Island and Caribbean Undercover were filmed at the same time, the behind the scenes mixes the scenes together a bit, but I don’t think many people will complain about seeing a little extra sex. Unlike the other behind the scenes feature, this one feels more like an actual behind the scenes. It captures quite a bit of the scenes from both movies being shot, as well as including some extra sex scenes.

Mickey G. gets the first behind the scenes bonus sex scene with the amazing Vanda. The only complaint I can have about the feature is that there are a couple sections here that take up a fair amount of time that were actually part of Caribbean Undercover rather than Sex Island. It seems like the two features could have been edited a bit differently to better balance the features rather than confusing the people who haven’t seen Caribbean Undercover with scenes they know nothing about.

Overall: Currently, Sex Island can be found online for between $14 and $25 with several stores offering it at the lower end. This is a more than fair price for this DVD. The feature is very sexy and does a nice job of making anal sex appear very comfortable. The behind the scenes feature is good enough that it could almost stand as its own feature, and really makes this into a great DVD. Of course, none of this would mean anything if you can’t watch the feature, but that’s not a worry since Adam & Eve appear to have put a lot of effort into the transfer.

Note to Adam & Eve: Very nice job here. I can’t say that I enjoyed the Hot Shot icon, but it’s nice to know that we won’t be forced to watch it in the future.
