The technical aspects are good. The audio is nicely balanced and clear, but there are a couple moments that seem a little murky. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks good. In the end, Not Traci Lords XXX ends up a largely mixed bag. The entire movie is held together by Misty Stone's voiceovers talking about this star and that star before they often have a short interview or similar light setup and then get to business. Although it ties the movie together, Traci Lords does not and leaves the title being a little misleading and leaves no doubt to it being chosen to sell more copies. You can feel the love for porn of the time through the setups and interviews, but it also feels like a bit too much fluff much of the time. I love Tom Byron as Jim South, but I also couldn't help but wish that there would have been more cameos from yesterday's stars throughout the movie. The sex is good, but I was almost constantly distracted by the big wigs, as well as the little details that threw things off such as Natasha just having a thin landing strip as Christy Canyon after talking about what a great bush Christy had or talking about how Kristara Barrington loved anal and then never having it in her scene. Richie doesn't look bad as John Holmes and is no slouch below the belt, but at the same time he just isn't gifted enough to play John Holmes right, and with the look I think it would have been much better with him as somebody like Paul Thomas. My final problem with the sex was with Carter Cruise, who gets second billing in the movie but doesn't even stay past the first blowjob! The ”Missed it by that much” moments were just a little too common through the movie, and although Not Traci Lords XXX really seems to have its heart in the right place, it ends up as a good rental rather than being much more. The Extras: The behind the scenes featurette lasts just under a half hour. Will Ryder starts out talking about the overall movie before things move around the set chatting with the cast. The girls talk a little about themselves and Ron Jeremy talks about things then versus now and shares some of his memories on the girls featured in the movie. Kurt Lockwood also shares a story about some of his exploits and the girls hang out having fun all around the set. There's also some decent eye candy around the set and plenty of the girls show off what they've grown for a bush. This is a very nice behind the scenes featurette. You get a nice mix of eye candy and personality from the girls, and having Ron Jeremy comment on the people the movie's about made it all the better. This is a very nice addition to the overall release.
