My Plaything: Tera Patrick Review

First, I have to admit that I am not the right person to review a one on one interactive disc with a woman. Interacting with Tera Patrick just doesn't turn me on, no matter how beautiful she may be. With that understanding, my review is more fact than opinion.

Image Quality: You can look at one frame of a Digital Sin DVD and know it's a Digital Sin DVD. The second the disc loaded, I was flabbergasted by the incredible quality. From the lighting to the camerawork to the DVD authoring, this disc is a visual masterpiece. And the seemingly perfect Tera Patrick is the ideal performer for such stunning image quality.

Tera Patrick: Undoubtedly Tera is one of the most beautiful, intriguing women on film (or magazine for that matter.) And she unquestionably looks her best on this DVD - alluring clothing, attractive make-up, and the all-important good lighting. But I would have to say that she is more model than porn star. I'm sure the controlling of an 'untouchable' is a fantasy for most men - and she certainly fulfills that. But she's not personable or highly orgasmic. She moans and writhes in pleasure, but I didn't get the impression that she ever actually came.

Menus: As always Digital Sin does a great job with the menus. The main ones are attractive and all are easy to use. You choose the main areas (tease, sex, etc) on the main menu and can navigate through subsections with unobtrusive selection options on the top of the screen.

Interactive Options: Each segment is about one and a half minutes and loops if you don't touch your remote. Personally, I think the segment should automatically go to the next one if you're hands are too busy to fiddle with the remote. You can choose naughty or nice within each segment and get the cum on cue option whenever the dick is involved. There are two real angles in each scene - one is usually the perspective of you if you were actually in the position of the surrogate, the other is an attractive full-body shot. They are perfectly in sync.

Cum shots: I know many of you are waiting to hear about the cum shots as they have been the most lacking feature in interactive discs to date. First, you can only watch the cum shot by selecting it during each segment. It doesn't just happen at the end of the scene. The only real cum shot is in the blowjob segment, where 'you' cum in/on Tera's mouth as she sucks 'your' dick. There are three digitally edited cum shots during the sex scenes and one where 'you' cum inside her. I understand that it must be difficult to shoot many cum shots in a day of filming. So I would suggest that they use more than one surrogate penis.

DVD Extras
Photo Gallery: Usually I blow off photo galleries as wasted effort, but this one is actually quite good. These aren't stills that you could have grabbed on your DVD-ROM. These are shots of Tera that you wouldn't otherwise see and she's one heck of a model. The image quality is again outstanding.
Bloopers: I wouldn't so much call these bloopers as outtakes. This is your chance to see Tera laugh and smile. It's fun to watch and adds a more personal dimension to Tera.
Trailers: You get six of 'em. The Nic Andrews trailers (Electric Sex, Whispers, Intimate Expressions) are mainstream quality and style. The gonzo trailers (The 4 Finger Club, North Pole 5, Video Virgins Gold 5) are more like bonus sex scenes.

Overall: Digital Sin never ceases to impress me with their grasp of what DVD should be. I guess the main buying decision depends on your own fantasies. Do you want to control an untouchable?
