Initial Expectations: Heat Vol. 1 was a pretty average compilation as I recall. It’s about what I’m expecting here as well.

Initial Reaction: It’s a pretty decent compilation, but the technical aspects aren’t that great.

Audio /Video Quality: As with all compilations, the technical aspects vary a bit from scene to scene. That said, most of the scenes here are quite a bit below average, which was a common problem with many of Adam & Eve’s earlier DVDs. The video almost always has excessive grain, and there’s some poorly lit scenes as well. The audio is okay, but has a few balance problems.

Music: The music varies from scene to scene, but overall is your typical porn music that’s way too loud.

False Advertising: Vanessa Chase and Jessica Conner are listed on the cover but I never saw them in the actual feature. The cover states almost 5 hours, and the feature falls exactly an hour short of that. I didn’t think anybody could fit 5 hours of decent video onto a DVD, so I didn’t expect this to be true, but it’s still an obviously false claim. I have, however, deducted a one full point because of the discrepancy (since Adam & Eve gave 4 hours while claiming 5 hours, and Adult DVD Talk reviews are based on a rating of 5, I’ll keep the discrepancy of 1).

Menus: The main menu is very plain and isn’t too impressive. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and the name of the original movie. This is a great touch, and something I think sets a good DVD apart from a poor one.

The Feature: Heat Vol. 2 continues to give you a ton of fuck for your buck. It contains nineteen scenes from some of Adam & Eve’s earlier movies for four hours of fucking and sucking.

Raylene starts things out with Alec Metro, and Ian Daniels in a scene from The Garden Party. Raylene starts out in a pink wig with some blue body paint and a silver outfit complete with a ray gun. She stumbles across Ian and Alec, both dressed kind of like scientists who are studying a bush. Raylene shows them the bush they should be studying and they learn quick. They lick and finger her pussy before she drops down to suck their cocks. They move on to take turns fucking and being sucked, and even work a toy into the action for a few seconds. The lighting is also horrible, and I don’t think they even used a flashlight to provide illumination for most of this scene. If it isn’t bad enough as is, the scene is boring and drags on for ever. I couldn’t help but give a scream of “Stop the Madness!” repeatedly when first watching this scene, and I was thankful to have my remote control handy this time.

Next up is the opening scene form Heartfelt 2. After being bathed by a good looking brunette, Carla Lott takes on Valentino, Billy Glide, Brick Majors, and John West. I haven’t seen Carla before that I know of, but I’ve heard that she was fairly well known in the eighties. For her age, she doesn’t look too bad here, but her face does show a bit of age during the close-ups. Her implants are also very noticeable, and she seems to try to be a trash talker, although it doesn’t work too well. It’s not really bad, but it differs enough through the scene that it catches your eye. It also has a scene that seems like it ties into the overall plot of the movie in the middle of the scene. It breaks things up and doesn’t belong there.

Things return to Elements of Desire with the final scene between a very young Mark Davis and Tiffany Mynx. Mark starts out licking her pussy as Tiffany stands in front of him. Sadly, many of the scenes are very average and the technical aspects normally leave a lot to be desired. I’d have to say that about a third of the scenes here are quite a bit above average, with the rest of them hovering right around average. Although it doesn’t make for a consistently engaging compilation, it does make for one that gives you a very nice feel for Adam & Eve’s early features. If you’re looking for a lot of bang for not much buck, Heat Vol. 2 is worth a thought or two.

Sadly, there isn’t anything for extras and the technical aspects normally leave quite a bit to be desired.

Note to Adam & Eve: Please pay more attention to your claims. The time discrepancy was very sloppy. On the plus side, thank you for listing the original features in the chapter menu. It’s something I feel strongly about making a quality compilation, and did make a difference in your ratings.
