Coming Of Age (Caballero) Review

"Coming of Age" is a shot-on video production made during F.J. Lincoln's heyday with Caballero in the late 80's, in which he mostly collaborated with his wife at the time, Patti Rhodes, who would write the scripts and co-produce the movies with Lincoln. I would compare this, quality and style wise to Lincoln's "Love on the Run", a porn masterpiece that still hasn't gotten the DVD treatment. This is a porn movie that manages to tell a story and show developed characters, as well as present sex.

Tami (Tami Monroe) is a country girl who lives with her Granpappy (Lincoln). Her boyfriend

(Tom Byron) is the son of the family rivals, and when her Granpappy discovers them during a sexual encounter, he shoots and kills him. Tami runs away to find her Aunt Trudy, who now goes by the name of Trixie, (Cheri Taylor), who works in a whorehouse, along with an assortments of characters, including a worldly hooker (Tori Welles), a regular and sometimes boyfriend of Trixie's (Joey Silvera), and a newcomer Karen (Honey Moore), who claims to have "plenty of experience".

Tami is not very sexually sophisciated, and actually has no experience with oral sex. Streetwise hooker Tina (Tori Welles) demonstrates this on various sized dildos in a fun sequence that ends with both girls moaning in pleasure.

Trixie gives Tami a job at the whorehouse, getting drinks for the customers. On her first night, several regulars are there: Jim (Peter North), who gets a special surprise that involves Mandi Wine and Porsche Lynn; Wayne (Randy West), who is not into girls, but real women like Trixie and insists on getting his way with her; Rob (Wayne Stevens), who brings his eighteen-year old son so he can lose his virginity. He gets paired with Karen in a surprisingly sweet scene in which some revelations about her are revealed.

The ending itself is not really a conclusion, but it doesn't really matter. "Coming of Age" is such a fun voyage to watch, with an interesting storyline, some funny dialogue, and hot sex, of course. While personally, I don't find it exactly the perfect jerk-off movie for a number of reasons, I do highly recommend this movie for anybody looking for something fun.

The features are pretty slim, but we do get a photo gallery and some previews for other Caballero movies. Now if only, "Love on the Run" could get the DVD treatment, I would be set.
