Initial Expectations: I haven’t seen anything from Stanlay Miranda yet, and the title itself turns be off, but since he’s a part of the Evil Empire I can’t help but have at least decent expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s definitely got some different and risky stuff, which was enough for me to kinda like it despite its faults.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody looking for something different and who doesn’t mind spitting, spanking, and dominant women

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who doesn’t think women should try to find the prostate

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty typical for gonzo porn. The audio is pretty well balanced, but there’s plenty of noticeable background noises. There’s also a bit of the audio that feels maxed out, as the dialogue gets very scratchy. Although background noises sometimes fit into gonzo scenes, Miranda’s basic approach to filming make them feel like they’re just left in and that he’s a little sloppy. There’s also a few comments that sound to be from Miranda that are left in. The video has much the same feel. It feels like there’s a lot of natural lighting used, and there’s a fair amount of grain that at first reminded me of film (although there’s plenty of signs that it was shot on video rather than film throughout the presentation). There’s also a bit of camera shake, some rough zooms, and awkward cuts which really interfere with things.

Music: There’s a little techno music early in the scenes that’s often on the loud side and adds little or nothing to the feature.

Menus: As usual, the menus are well done. The main menu nicely works a clip of the movie in. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip and the name of the females in the scene. The fetish menu lets you choose a scene based on sex acts such as anal, feet, and lactation.

The Feature: Best Ass in the World is a pretty basic fuck flick. There’s no setup for any of the scenes, although some do have a little tease at the start. Unlike most of Evil Empire’s movies, Stanlay Miranda seems to stay well out of the movie and lets the performers do their thing without interrupting them.

Jazmine, who has rightfully developed a loyal following partially due to her great ass, starts things out with Spanish wild-man Nacho Vidal. Nacho strokes himself while watching some porn before things change to show him between Jazmine’s legs working her over with his tongue and fingers. Nacho dominantly continues the warmup, fucking Jazmine’s face while fingering her, spanking her ass, and making sure she takes it all the way into her throat before they start fucking. Both Nacho and Jazmine are intense performers, and they seem to spur each other on throughout the entire scene. They put a lot of energy into the entire thing, and even make a special effort to try and stimulate each other beyond just fucking through extra touching and soft talk. They work through both vaginal and anal sex this way before Jazmine gobbles up Nacho’s nut butter as if she hadn’t had a single bit of liquid pass her lips in days. Nacho gives her a kiss afterwards, and then heads down under to orally make sure Jazmine’s finished. This was Jazmine’s final Evil Angel scene, and it’s everything a person could hope for. She meets Nacho’s intensity head on and returns it to him, making my jaw rest on my chest several times throughout the scene. It has a few technical problems, but there’s no denying the heat and intensity between Nacho and Jazmine. This is a great way to start out a movie!

After a little play fighting, exotic looking Deborah Taylor and Christian Wave spread out a blanket to get busy on. They quickly start kissing and working each other over with their tongue and fingers before moving starting to fuck and moving from vaginal to anal just as quickly. Through it all, they spit on each other and manhandle each other. I never got the feeling that either of them didn’t like the manhandling, but some thing about it didn’t work for me here, and I can’t put my finger on it. They finally finish things with a nice facial. This one didn’t do much for me. The only things that really interested me was that Deborah and Christian used some different positions that others rarely use and that Deborah squirted Christian with her milk. Although I occasionally like women who look a little more exotic, they normally need something decent below that for me to find them attractive. I didn’t find much of anything attractive about Deborah, and thought that how much she and Christian changed things around held things back a bit. There was also plenty of technical problems, such as bad audio, background noises, shadows, and camera shake which also held things back for me.

After Nicole Maya, who’s going with the gangsta bitch style, shows off a little on a couch, she joins Crisbel, who shows the right way to look exotic, and Fabio Scorpion. Nicole watches Crisbel work over Fabio orally at first, and then comes over to join in. The girls and Fabio give each other a complete warming up, and nobody’s ass is spared a tongue or finger, including Fabio. Crisbel gets the honor of getting fucked first, and takes it right in the can through several positions. Nicole watches Crisbel get fucked, and plays with herself and the others before finally riding Fabio’s cock while Crisbel rides his foot and then fingers his ass. Finally, they work each other over orally, with Crisbel fingering Fabio’s ass while he strokes his cock and eats out Nicole. After a bit, Fabio finally pops on his stomach. It’s a very hot scene with great chemistry. It’s a little rough at times, and I know that the male anal aspect of it will turn off a lot of people, but everybody here looks completely into the action! Crisbel amazes me, and looks like she’s having the time of her life both giving and receiving with Fabio. She really made the scene for me, and I really hope to see more of her in the future!

Christian Wave returns to take on Tabitha, a dark skinned beauty, in the fourth scene. Christian works her over her toes before moving up to her holes. Unlike the previous scene with Christian, he takes his time working Tabitha over to get her ready. He doesn’t waste much time as she blows him, and quickly moves on to fuck her from behind and spoon her. They work through most of the common positions without any anal, and finish things up with a pop on the stomach. After watching this scene, I started to think that my problem with the second scene might have been Christian, as I found this scene a little lacking too. He just doesn’t seem to be all there as a performer for me. There was some chemistry, but not a lot, and there was some decent energy. Tabitha is cute, but there wasn’t anything that really grabbed me here.

Dark haired beauty Vivian Mello finishes things up. After a little tease and masturbation, she hooks up with Fabio Scorpion and Maurinho Manson. They warm each other up energetically, with Vivian showing some great love for her work right from the start. She sucks Maurinho while Fabio rims and then fucks her from behind. Maurinho gets his turn next, which just happens to be with Vivian and a strap-on. He sucks it before she fucks him in the ass, and then watches as Vivian takes it in the ass. Maurinho seems very protective of the strap-on, and sucks it a bit and holds it while Vivian gets fucked before he pops on her tits and Fabio decorates her ass. It’s definitely a different scene, and definitely won’t be for everybody! I have to say that although I was a bit uncomfortable watching it, I have to respect Stanlay for going for something different here. Maurinho doesn’t seem to be too into women, but he’s nicely worked into the scene and looks very comfortable for where he is there. This is definitely an interesting way to end a movie!

Any title that tells me it’s the best, or even that it has the best, normally turns me off from the start. Best Ass in the World is no different. With a title like this, Stanlay Miranda comes off as extremely egotistical to me, which often doesn’t do much for me even when a person has a long string of credits behind them and a reason for having a big ego. From what I’ve seen, Stanlay doesn’t have that long string of credits, and most people haven’t even heard of him. If he would have called this My Favorite Asses in the World, I can’t say that I would have had any problem with it. Everyone’s entitled to their favorites, but to call their choices best doesn’t work for me. To have called it The Hunt for the Best Ass in the World or The Search for the Best Ass in the World would have been even better, as it lets the viewer know that they should have some great asses to look forward to but there’s always the chance for something better out there.

That said, Best Ass in the World does have some great asses, and unlike some of the scenes, there isn’t a single one that’s bad. As always, Jazmine turns out an amazing scene. Crisbel turns in just as much heat, energy, and enjoyment to really stand out here, and Vivian Mello finishes things up very well in a scene that should make more than a few men scream. Even in the two scenes that didn’t do much for me, the girls had great asses.

Right from the start, it’s obvious that Stanlay Miranda has a great deal of respect for John Stagliano (which is something every gonzo director out there should have), not only for his apparent love of asses, but for his style. Not five minutes into the first scene I had the feeling that Stanlay was trying to copy Stagliano’s style (not that I blame him), and for one of his first Evil Empire movies, I can’t say that he does too bad. He moves around nicely and has a good emphasis on the butt. His biggest problem is in some of his cuts and zooms. Every cut is extremely noticeable since he fades to black quickly for each scene, but they often become even more noticeable because he sometimes does it in the middle of a position without even switching the camera angle. These are the things that hold Best Ass in the World back the most, and the main reason I’d suggest people rent it before buying it.

Extras: The photo gallery contains just over fifty very nice looking snapshots. There’s also a cast list by scene, filmographies for Crisbel, Deborah Taylor, Vivian Mello, Jazmine, and Gisele Prado, and website information.

The main extra, however, is an extra scene between Sharon and Gisele Prado. Sharon starts things out masturbating on a bed and gives a little tease scene. Afterwards, Gisele does the same kind of tease, and after a few minutes, shows the something else that he (or is it she?) brings to the party. Gisele plays with each other a little more, and afterwards hooks up with Sharon. They start out groping and gently exploring each other, while thankfully not starting a catfight by one accusing the other of having fake tits. They exchange quite a few oral favors before Sharon hops on to ride Gisele reverse cowgirl style and let Gisele fuck her from behind. Gisele strokes things a bit to finish things up, but never manages a pop. I’m sure if I was a fan of she-male action I’d be really happy with this scene. As is, I can appreciate it and admit that it’s one of the best she-male scenes I’ve watched. Of course, she-males are one of the things that Brazilians seem to know best about.

Overall: Currently, most Evil Angel DVDs can be found online for between $18.50 and $30 with many stores offering them for around $20. I’d suggest renting this one before you spend that much. The sex wasn’t as consistent as I’ve come to expect from Evil Angel in the past, and the transfer is also lacking a bit.

Note to Stanley Miranda / Evil Angel: It’s great to see you taking a few risks, but please be a little more patient with your camera work and try to improve your technical aspects. Right now they’re the biggest thing holding you back.
