Bella (Arrow) Review

Directed, written and co-edited by Alexander Kubelka, BELLA (1980) is quite the starring vehicle for the lovely Tracy Adams as she plays a young seductress out to steal away her mother's lover. This Tracy Adams made few films and in BELLA, she plays the mean bad-girl so well; she's the main reason to catch this little flick. A dull acting performance from Diane Sloane as her mother keeps this tale from soaring to amazing heights; however, Sloane's more than up to the challenge of performing in an array of sexual encounters. Eric Edwards turns in another solid performance whether he's sucking, fucking or acting. Standard frame. 85 minutes.

A wild introductory scene here. Bella is walking home from school while Tom prepares a sofa bed in the basement so that he and Susan can have a quickie. Bella's mother is worried that her daughter will soon be home but Tom doesn't care. The duo mish fuck in the sofa bed in a wide shot that turns into tighter camera shots as Bella stops looking for her mother in the house and wanders outside where she spots the duo through a basement window. Bella watches as Tom coats Susan's pussy with a cum shot then observes his quick departure that leaves her masturbating mother to lie alone atop the creaky sofa bed.

Credits roll then Bella steps away from the window. The following scenes establish Bella as a young temptress, who wants what her mother has. She rides with Susan to pick up her father (Jack Teague) from the airport. He had been away on business and his many business trips allow his wife to stray with Tom. However, the man of the house is home and he and Susan are soon sucking and fucking in their bedroom. A restless Bella awakens from her sleep and fingers her pussy at the same time that Dad is fingering Mom's twat. Bella masturbates with a dildo at her bedside then listens through the wall.

While her Mom and Dad continue in the bedroom, Bella disappears into the night to Tom's house. Inside, she grabs his drink, sits in a chair then spreads her legs. And the middle third of BELLA is a sort of cat and mouse game as Susan wants to see Tom but she is unaware that Bella wants Tom only for herself. Tom does not answer the door when Susan first stops by then he hustles Bella inside and takes her to an upstairs playroom. While Tom and Bella fuck in the couch upstairs, Susan reads a magazine then begins checking up on Bella. By the time Tom spills his seed on Bella's pussy, Susan's ringing of Tom's phone line echoes throughout the house in a marvelous collection of interior shots pairing Tom's dark home with the sound of the ringing telephone.

Bella tells Tom that "you belong to me now" but she sleeps through Susan's departure from the house for a late night rendezvous with Tom in front of his fire place. Bella spies on them then greets Tom the following day with a blow job that Bella administers while seated in Tom's car. Later that day, Susan tells Bella she's going over to see Tom so Bella interrupts their tryst with an array of nasty phone calls that prompt Tom to make an up excuse to send Susan away. Later, Bella hears Susan's lonely cries of passion through the wall as Susan must satisfy herself in her empty bed with an assist from a nearby dildo wider in girth, longer in length than Bella's bedside toy.

At the dinner table, the mother and daughter duo argue in front of the head of the household, who has returned from yet another long business trip, which introduces the final third of the film where Bella takes extreme measures to snare Tom for herself. Bella hustles her friend Patty (lovely Arcadia Lake with a big thick head of hair) to Tom's house where she holds court with a pointed gun in the upstairs playroom. She forces Patty to handcuff Tom in a chair and orders her to give Tom a blowjob. Except for those knee-high leather boots, Bella gets naked in the couch where she and Tom had fucked before. With organ music accompaniment, Bella forces Patty to suck her twat while Tom watches from his nearby chair. The girls land in a 69 position as Tom squirms to get out of the hand cuffs; meanwhile, coming up the stairs, Susan hears them, spies on the trio then quickly departs. The girls get each other off, then Bella climbs off of Patty and tells Tom to "stop fucking around with my mother."

Another business trip means Bella and Susan are alone in the car with Susan brandishing that same gun. The duo arrive at a strange 50/50 agreement that mother and daughter will share Tom and not tell father. That night, Susan again joins Tom in front of the fire so a lagging behind Bella catches them fucking, disrobes in the doorway and joins them for a terrific three way suck and fuck. The performers' natural sounds give way to Wagner's Flight of the Valkyries (!) then a slow-motion cock sucking encounter presented via a three shot concludes the action. Yea, wow indeed! This sordid tale so benefits from the performance of Tracy Adams, who nails the sex crazed daughter role whether she's spewing venomous dialog or sucking and fucking with her new playmate, who just so happens to be the same man her mother suck and fucks on the side. As Susan, Diane Sloane gets things half right: she sucks, fucks and plays with herself about as well as any performer from that time; however, her delivery of dialog is so stiff that she seems to be no match for Adam's Bella. So, when the duo are in the car and come to that strange agreement over Tom; Bella seems to be uncharacteristically giving into someone who has been so weak throughout the duration of this flick.

Many technical aspects are solid especially the mixing of symphonic music with natural sounds of the performers. Too bad Carter Steven's cinematography suffers at the hands of what must have been a pretty lousy surviving print of BELLA. Try to look past these few problems and enjoy this otherwise wacky lover's triangle involving mother and daughter. !!!! outta !!!!! for BELLA.
