Allure (Wicked) Review

The best-looking babe in Wicked’s 1996 release “Allure” is 23-year-old Lexi Erickson. She plays a high-priced call-girl whose job it is to distract one of the security men at a small museum so that jewel thief Stacy Valentine can make her move on the fabulous Allure diamond. Initially, Lexi comes off as neither call-girl nor porn star; she looks positively nervous at times, an impression supported by the fact that Lexi was just starting out in the business in 1996. She warms up to the part when she goes down on her knees. That helps: it makes even her trepidation cute. And in porn, experience isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be. Earlier, Sindee Coxx takes Jonathan Morgan in her mouth and gives him one of those granny-style blowjobs (lips curled in and under) that are never particularly exciting. Lexi, the relative novice, gives giving head a good name, while all the while Mickey G. keeps looking at her like a guy savoring his occupational perks.

Sindee eats pussy better than dick anyway, and so does Mickey G., which is to say Mickey eats pussy pretty well for a guy. So Lexi gets something back, and that makes the last scene even better. Better pornography; that this scene, featuring a secondary character and a call-girl walk-on, is the last sex scene in a film supposedly about either or both Stacy Valentine and her one-time partner in crime Alex Sanders is a narrative joke. George Kaplan, who wrote the script, never has much of a handle on his story and he loses his way completely after the third sex scene. Which scene just happens to feature the film’s only girl/girl, and in which Sindee gets to demonstrate her most effective oral skills. Not that her earlier scene, with Jonathan Morgan, is bad, despite the blowjob. Viewers looking for a story film to share with a spouse or girlfriend should really consider looking elsewhere—unless good sex is yet the goal. Because, as a story film, “Allure” is useless; as pornography, it’s much more satisfying.

Three of its five sex scenes rise above the norm, one more so than the others. The one is the first, a pre-caper tryst with Stacy and Alex, who never look like they’re acting. The other two are a matter of taste. MMF fans will enjoy the fourth scene, once they get past the silly way it begins, if for no other reason than that Alexandra Silk is so clearly into it. One of the most pleasing aspects of this movie is the amicably horny attitude of most of the performers. The least interesting scene—the Sindee/Morgan combo—is the one that involves the most “acting.” Morgan plays the belligerent museum director responsible for the diamond, and he carries the sneering character over into his sexual performance—usually a laudable act, but one that’s out of place here. Alexandra, by contrast, is all smiles as she gets double-penetrated and accepts a double facial to end the scene, a significant portion of one half of which finds its way down her throat.

Stacy and Sindee share those transitional kisses that are so mysteriously erotic. A girl just gets finished running her tongue all over her girlfriend’s pussy and somehow it’s even more exciting to watch the two kiss afterwards. Go figure. And count intimacy into the calculation. Stacy and Alex take top honors in this category, however. It’s an unusual boy/girl scene that begins with the guy lavishing his attention on his partner’s tits and then treating her to some quality oral action before she ever goes down on him. It’s almost as if he really likes the girl. This isn’t the best scene I’ve ever watched, but the way these two look at each other, it’s definitely one of the most intimate.

The allure of this film isn’t the diamond, which looks like what it is, cut glass; it isn’t its inept merging of story and sex; it is, quite simply, the sex itself and the unaffected performances of its stars. And on that level it’s a prize worth the risk of a few bucks.
