42^nd Street Forever: The Peep Show Collection Volume 19 brings us another installment of Impulse Pictures long-running, obviously, classic loop series. As with the previous installments, there are a total of 15 loops present on the release which are evenly broken up into the three categories boy/girl, girl/girl, and three or more. A few seem to be miscategorized but that is unlikely to ruin anyone's experience with the compilation. The options exist to either pick the loop you want to view or to just run them all as a continuous presentation.

When it comes to reviewing a compilation of loops such as this, a review is always hard. Since the set isn't themed in any way, one can't recommend it to fans of certain acts, stars, directors, and so on. Each loop is different so while a viewer might hate one, they may love the next one. The loops on the set, as is standard, are all silent. This compilation, moreso than some of the past ones, certainly lives up to the each loop is different concept. The loops here vary from all sex that start with the action already happening to ones with a short set up, to ones that tell a story complete with subtitles for the dialog.

The biggest problem with 42^nd Street Forever: The Peep Show Collection Volume 19 is the same problem that has plagued the series all the way through so far. Impulse Pictures has done very little to identify the loops included on the release outside of a title, if known. Given that the majority of the customer base for this series are collectors of classic adult film loops, an insert that gives as much known information on the loop (original 8mm box cover if available, series name and number, stars if known, director if known, year of release if known) would seem to be expected. However, none of this information has been provided by Impulse Pictures.

The following is the breakdown of the loops on the compilation, along with original series name and number when I could identify them, by the category they are under on the release.

The boy/girl category bring us “Love, Oriental Style” from Satan (S 2). “Sex Pointers,” starring Pamela Jennings and Marc Wallice, from the Golden Girls loop series (GG 217) from 1984. “The Dream” from Encounter (2), and “Love Anal.” The final loop in this category is “Pom-Pom Power,” starring Linda Shaw and Jeff Conrad, from the Swedish Erotica loop series (SE 430) from 1981.

The three or more category brings us “Games People Play,” starring Jamie Gillis, from Satan Productions International (S 7). “The Seduction of a Nurse,” starring Jamie Gillis and Jeffrey Hurst, from the Satan Productions International series (S 5). “Fire My Box,” written by Edward D. Wood, Jr. starring Betty Carter, Karen Cooknell, and Keith Erickson from 1973, from the Danish Films International series (22) with English subtitles for the dialog. “Video Games,” from the Diamond Collection (JC 307) starring Crystal Lovin and Linda Shaw. “Pepper's Mix-Up,” starring Pepper Bond, Kevin James, and Reggie Gunn, from the Lusty Ladies series (LL 311).

And finally, the lesbian category brings us “Lesbian Lust,” starring Vanessa Del Rio and Merle Michaels, from the Pleasure Production series (PP 2085). “Truck Girls” from the OZ Films series (OZ 73) starring Sandy Pinney. “Sweet Lesbian Girls,” starring Marianne, is from the Diplomat loop series (DI 1023) and it appears to be the original 60-meter Diplomat release not the shorter Color Climax 50-meter release of the loop. “Angie's Dream,” starring Gina Martell and Kristara Barrington, from the Seductress loop series (SS 14). “Love Birds,” starring Virginia Winter, written by Edward D. Wood, Jr., and directed by Carl Azteco from 1976, from the Danish International Films loops series (1012), which has English subtitles for the dialog in the loop.

As with any collection of this sort, it is impossible to state whether this is for you or not. If you are a fan of the old 8mm loops and you have liked previous installments in the compilation series, you should enjoy what is offered here. Since they are different than the all sex films of today, if you haven't experienced a loop yet, I would give the compilation a rental first to make sure you like loops.

Impulse Pictures has done a good job with their release of 42^nd Street Forever: The Peep Show Collection Volume 19. The 8mm loops presented in the compilation are in the academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1 in 480p. The various loops were mastered from prints and as a result, each one is of differing quality. Overall, there are artifacts, grain, and print damage present throughout the loops. All of the loops are watchable with some looking far better than others.

The audio track for 42^nd Street Forever: The Peep Show Collection Volume 19 is just a projector sound presented on a Dolby Digital 2.0 monaural audio track.

The only extra Impulse Pictures has included on the release is a booklet with the essay “Porn Loops are the Great Leveler” by adult film historian Dimitrios Otis on the anonymity of adult film loops and cast.

Impulse Pictures continues on their long-running compilation series of adult loops with their newest entry 42^nd Street Forever: The Peep Show Collection Volume 19. As with previous entries in the series, the old 8mm loops collected here are broken into the lesbian, boy/girl, and groupings categories. The loops included here vary from ones that start with the action already going to ones with set-up and subtitled dialog for the scenes. Fans of the old loops should enjoy this collection as much as they have enjoyed the previous collections. Impulse Pictures has done a good job with the release. Each loop is of differing quality, but most are in generally good shape.
