John Leslie Dupre AKA John Leslie acted in many a classic xxx production from the '70s and '80s. By the late '80s, Mr. Leslie had worked with most of the great porn directors and decided to direct films of his own. He rounded up Jack Remy as director of photography, Bill Heid for jazzy or bluesy music then John directed, wrote or co-wrote and edited a great many films for VCA from 1987 through 1994. Four films from this period appear on JOHN LESLIE 4 ON 1 (2009, VCA Classics-LFP Video Group) including THE CATWOMAN from 1988, THE CHAMELEON from 1989, STRANGE CURVES from 1990 and ANGELS from 1992. At nearly 6 hours, this collection scores well with three really solid productions with ANGELS being the only misfire from the bunch. Standard frame. [read the full review]

How to Get Ahead is a story driven disc from the late 80’s. Fun fact is it was directed by Ron Jeremy. I never really was impressed with the stuff that Ron directed, compared to what he brought as a performer. As was the standard back then, the scenes are rather on the short side as 6 scenes plus storyline are packed into 70+ minutes. John Leslie's "The Catwoman", which marks one of his last, if not the last, of his sex roles is a moody, charged, and very erotic masterpiece that helped establish his directorial style. Kathleen Gentry stars as Jennifer, a photographer who is having problems with her boyfriend Stefan (played by Joey Silvera). While she is walking home from work, she has the feeling that she is being followed. She literally bumps into a stranger (Leslie), who invites her for a drink. As they talk, hints of sexuality echo out of their conversation. He offers to call her a cab, but instead she offers to walk him home.
