Titan seems to be doing a flip-flop of late. It used to be that their Manplay series had a bunch of guys engaged in seemingly freewheeling sex while their major features had a semblance of a plot. Now it appears that their Manplays are starting to have plots and their majors are getting a bunch of guys together for seemingly haphazard sex. Closed Set: Titan Stage One is like a crossbreed between a Manplay film and an audition tape. There are freewheeling sexual encounters and there are tryouts where prospective performers are interviewed and jack off. We then see them in a sex scene. The film begins with Mason Wylera beautiful young guyleaving his trailer park and driving to Titan studios where he enters the door marked Closed Set and picks up a camera. Now let me say here that I have a problem with this review because the film is filled with a preponderance of bearded clones and I find it difficult to tell them apart. This DVD is currently in two versions. General Release and the Directors Expanded Edit. I am reviewing the Directors Expanded Edit. Director Joe Gage has the ability to create sexual tension. Musky rooms with men too nervous to make the first move and too hot to walk away, Flashing eyes and rubbing crotch until someone breaks and drops to their knees. The hurricane outside is eclipsed by the storm brewing inside. Starring: Cliff Rhodes, Gus Mattox, Jacob Slader, Marco Paris, Nick Parker, T.J. Taylor, Blu Kennedy, Darren Stone, Hunt Parker, Justin Gemineye, Mike Grant, Rhet Henqst, and Trey Rexx. The movie starts with a hot stubble stud getting his car worked on while a hurricane is coming. He gets some good vibes from his mechanic but nothing develops. Our dark star tries to out run the storm but cant continue and takes refuge in an empty warehouse. After some exploration he finds The Mens Room. Since GORGE in 2002 (a film which very well may be the most beautiful gay porn film ever made) Bruce Camthe head honcho of Titanhas been content to let others occupy the directors chair. Brian Mills, Harold Creg, and the legendary Joe Gage have certainly justified his trust, but Mr. Cam has decided to regain his seat with HORSE: FALLEN ANGEL 5. The result is overwhelming. To put it simply, HORSE is undoubtedly one of the finest gay porn films ever made. Yes, there are real horses, but those of interest are the performers who wear leather belts designating them as horses. There is a stable with stalls but there is also a master suite, a forge, a cave, and an outdoor scene. (If the setting is Hell, I for one am breathing a lot easier about a purported afterlife.)
