Since GORGE in 2002 (a film which very well may be the most beautiful gay porn film ever made) Bruce Cam—the head honcho of Titan—has been content to let others occupy the director’s chair. Brian Mills, Harold Creg, and the legendary Joe Gage have certainly justified his trust, but Mr. Cam has decided to regain his seat with HORSE: FALLEN ANGEL 5. The result is overwhelming. To put it simply, HORSE is undoubtedly one of the finest gay porn films ever made.

Yes, there are real horses, but those of interest are the performers who wear leather belts designating them as ‘horses’. There is a stable with stalls but there is also a master suite, a forge, a ‘cave’, and an outdoor scene. (If the setting is Hell, I for one am breathing a lot easier about a purported afterlife.) Characters appear out of nowhere a la “Bewitched” and—in one instance—dissolve into dewy droplets with the flick of a wrist from a master. The production values are top-notch. The cinematography by Brian Mills, one of the best in the business, is inspired. The performers are those typical of Titan who define the word ‘macho’. The action takes nearly 5 hours. The limited edition Director’s cut is released on 5 Discs.

DISC ONE

A supernatural opening establishes Matt Major and Ben Jakks as fallen angels. We follow the head angel Matt into a dungeon room that will be known as the “Master Suite”. There he sits in a chair and using his magical powers gestures toward the fireplace igniting the logs. Through the fire we enter the cave where Troy Punk and Jason Diaz are turning a mill wheel. Joshua Adams—with a bit in his mouth—is brought in on a cart. He is pulled from the cart and given a slash with a whip. Jason and Troy grab him and place him on the top of the wheel. But before we see their scene we cut to another trio.

The final interviews are with Bens Taylor and Jakks (two Londoners), Marcos (Cuba), Matthieu (Paris) and Matt (San Francisco). It was a truly “international’ production.

DISC FIVE:

The final disc labeled “The Best of Fallen Angel Fetish” contains previews of the other films in the series along with highlights of these films. Included are some fisting scenes and the notorious piercing of Kyle Brandon’s cock from FALLEN ANGEL II. I put off watching FALLEN ANGEL II for a long time as the sheer thought of sticking a dick to prepare for a Prince Albert made me wince (but of course this is one of the reasons I bought it.) I expected it to be gruesome and gory and unbelievable painful, but it was none of these things. In fact, it was over in a trice and rather disappointing really.
Still it was interesting to see how it’s done.

So, how does one sum up this epic film? I’ve already used an adjective like “overwhelming” and called it one of ‘the finest porn films ever made.” I suppose I could go on calling it “stupendous, remarkable, mesmerizing, awesome”, etc. But if I did, you would think I was over-praising it (even though these adjectives do apply). HORSE is a astonishing achievement and will definitely be a major contender for all the awards. Titan and all associated with the film can be justifiably proud of their accomplishment. You owe it to yourself to see this film.
