On MELROSE PLACE there was one token gay guy. On WET PALMS, a show that seems suggestive of the former, there are no token straights. This is not the first gay soap. That honor goes to an episodic piece called YOUNG HEARTS, BROKEN DREAMS. But YHBD was softcore; WET PALMS is hardcore. (Is it ever!) It also features a cast of top-notch performers who are the hottest stars around. This first episode (Who is Lucky Hanson) begins with Lucky Hanson (played by a cute newcomer, Gabriel Knight) arriving at Wet Palms inquiring after the owner, Randall Jett. The manager (played with much swishyness by Bret Wolfe) tells him that Randall is in Europe. Bret is taken aback as Lucky resembles a certain Sebastian and that gives him a bad feeling. Nevertheless he is intrigued, and gives Lucky a room. The filmon the surfaceis a spoof of the Bond films, but it is also a coming-out story and primarily a love story. Corey Summers in a real tour de force performance plays both master spy McGuffin and Goodwin, a military man look-alike who is forced into impersonating the arch-villain. There are a few slight problems to this impersonation however. McGuffin has a distinctive tattoo, is cut, and is gay. Goodwin has no tattoo, is uncut, and is straight. Lucas Kazans Our Summer is a softcore adaption of the film Across The Ocean and is probably one of the best softcore features I have seen! With beautiful landscapes and backdrops, a wonderful musical score, and a cast of perfection this one really stands out. Although there are no hardcore shots like penetration, oral or cum shots dont let that fool you. There is enough nudity, sporadic dick shots and scenes of sucking and fucking that leave it up to your imagination its still quite hot! The picture quality is exceptionally clear which brings out the beauty in both nature and the performers. Theres also some brief interviews with the cast, which is pretty much all Italian, and you get a brief glimpse into the background of these guys. It was interesting. For example Ettore is 26 and a go-go boy, Fabio is 21 loves soccer and isnt much into body building but likes a lean physique, etc. It begins with Francesco Maldini and Ettore Tosi walking along the desert sand in the buff.
