Initial Expectations: Fred Lincoln rarely impresses me too much, so I’m not expecting anything too special here.

Initial Reaction: Although part of me doesn’t think I should, I can’t help but kinda like it.

Who Should Watch It : Couples and anybody who doesn’t want facials

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting nastier sex or a strong plot

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear, but obviously dubbed at times. The video is well lit, but shows some fairly obvious grain.

Music: The music has a soft rock feel that’s amazingly generic. The only really good thing I can say about it is that it’s balanced very nicely with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The menus are decently done, but have a kind of dark feel that didn’t give me the best feeling going into the movie. The main menu has some nice animation, and the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number. After selecting the scene, you’re taken to a second menu that lets you choose where in the scene you want to go to. Amazingly, neither of the menus tell you who’s in the scenes.

The Feature: When Chris Cannon decides he’s going to be a famous writer, he moves from Podunk Junction, Ohio out to Hollywood. There he meets Jezebelle Bond. They inspire each other, and help each other to realize what’s important in life without even coming close to a quadruple anal with midgets wearing clown shoes and juggling flaming chopsticks and chainsaws.

April gives Chris Cannon a going away present of her dress, waitaminute, make that what’s under her dress. April sucks his cock and gives him one last taste of her sweet snatch before riding him with her patented reverse cowgirl gyrations. Chris finishes things up fucking April from behind and then leaving her something to remember him by on her chest. It’s a pretty good scene with nice chemistry, but nothing wildly outstanding.

Lee Stone gets busy with Aria outside his limo in one of April’s fantasies next. Lee helps Aria onto the hood of his limo so he can pleasure her pussy and ass with his tongue, fingers, and a lot of spit, and then lets her take him to the back of her throat in return. Lee moves on to fuck her pussy, but doesn’t waste any time getting to Aria’s ass, fucking that energetically in several positions before decorating her hip. It’s a very hot scene with excellent chemistry and energy. It’s obvious Aria loves having her ass worked on, and Lee looks to fill her needs as well as anybody could. It’s a great scene, and far better than I ever expect from Fred Lincoln.

Jezebelle Bond gives Steven St. Croix a little booty in the next scene. Steven kisses all of Jezebelle’s good parts as she smiles and giggles away before she shows off her oral talents. They keep going doggie and missionary style before he decorates her chest. It’s a very nice scene thanks to some great chemistry. Steven and Jezebelle smile throughout most of the scene, and laugh quite a bit as well. The sex itself is nothing spectacular, but the attitude makes it a great scene.

Jezebelle Bond takes care of herself in the shower next. She lets the water cascade across her great natural, although pierced and tattooed, body while her fingers work their magic on her twat. Unbeknownst to her, Chris Cannon can hear her through the wall and takes care of himself at the same time until he pops. It’s a different scene, and works very well.

After Chris Cannon spurns her advances, Michelle Michaels gets busy with Kaylynn in her kitchen. After a little lizard kissing, Kaylynn lets her amazing tongue go to work on Michelle’s body before going over to get a jelly dildo. They suck it back and forth between Kaylynn buries it in Michelle’s mound. Michelle returns the favor, but Kaylynn shows her giving side by playing with Michelle’s pussy as she’s getting fucked with the dildo. It’s a pretty hot scene, but the ending is so cut off that I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed by it. I always thought that being able to finish a lesbian scene believably is the sign of a great director, and I think that’s one of the main reasons I’ve never been that impressed by Fred Lincoln.

Jezebelle Bond finishes things up with Billy Glyde after realizing that love is more important than some of the smaller things in life. She hops onto his bumper to give his tongue easy access to her twat. She reciprocates nicely before letting Billy bone her from behind, as well as fucking her missionary style, and finally coming on her stomach. It’s another very nice scene that makes me think I’m going to have to watch a bit more of Jezebelle Bond.

Although part of me wants to really hate Vixxen, I can’t help but still like it. The story, as with most things I’ve seen Patti Rhodes write, is more than a little weak. It has a nice message and good heart, but feels like it didn’t come close to using a full side of a matchbook cover. The sex saves it. Yes, the sex has its problems too, such as the lesbian scene ending feeling like it still had plenty to go, but it also has a lot of chemistry. Surprisingly, April’s scene is the weakest when it comes to chemistry, but each of Jezebelle Bond’s scenes is so full of chemistry and enjoyment that they put a smile on my face. Although she never fucks him, she has great chemistry with Chris Cannon as well, and the two of them give Vixxen a heart that’s hard to miss. Vixxen is a pleasant surprise that’s worth the time.

Extras: The photo gallery contains about twenty nice looking snapshots and full screen photos. Bios are included for the entire cast, giving you a photo of the star and a little personal information. Trailers are included for Emerald Rain, The Fiesta, Invisible, A Midsummer Night’s Cream, The Puppeteer, Sex Spell, and X-Girls. There’s also weblinks, a bonus scene, and a behind the scenes featurette.

The bonus scene comes from The Merger, and features Steven St. Croix and Lee Stone taking on Becca Bratt, who I think looks classier here than I’ve ever seen her, on an open staircase. Steven takes the lower half while Lee takes the top half, before they have Becca bend over so Steven can fuck her while she sucks Lee. She nicely works her way back and forth sucking the guys and letting them fuck her from behind until she starts riding Lee reverse cowgirl style, where she pretty much finishes things up. She goes back to bending over and sucking and fucking to finish the guys up, and finishes things with a massive double facial. It’s a pretty good scene overall, but it has a fabulous ending.

Finally, there’s a seventeen minutes behind the scenes featurette. Although you get to see a little of the scenes and the photo galleries being shot, most of the featurette is dedicated to interviews with the stars. Jezebelle Bond, Billy Glyde, April, Aria, Chris Cannon, and Michelle Michaels all give interviews, letting you see a nice little bit of each of their personalities. It’s a very nice featurette and something everybody who’s interested in the stars as real people should take the time to check out.

Overall: Currently, Vixxen can be found online for between $13 and $22 with stores offering everywhere in between. The low end is more than fair for what you get here. Most of the sex has great chemistry, and the story, although weak, isn’t too bad. The transfer lacks a little, but there’s some nice extras.

Note to Adam & Eve: A little more attention to the technical aspects would have been nice here (namely reducing the amount of grain in the movie and eliminating the dubbing). It’s nice to see you giving your DVDs some nice extras.
