Two-Way Mirror (Cal Vista) Review

My viewing of TWO-WAY MIRROR aka GARCONNAIERES TRES SPECIALES aka LA PIED A TERRE (1981, France) was a bit hazy due to the fact that my screener DVD went bonky with about 20 minutes remaining. And based on what I could see, I would look else where instead of looking through this horribly dubbed, brief sex scene loaded TWO-WAY MIRROR, a Cal Vista Classic re-release.

This U. S. version has more problems: the DVD sleeve cover girl may or may not be in the film, the heart-shaped mirror that the she peers into is not the two-way mirror in the film, the cast and crew credits on the front and back of the DVD sleeve are totally bogus.

Elisabeth Bure gets the keys to an apartment with a two-way mirror where she has sexual trysts with different dudes and a pretty neighbor then watches other suck and fuck on the other side of the mirror. This all sounds better than it is; the sex scenes are too brief, too frequent (IAFD lists 17 sexual encounters in 86 minutes!) and a few of the cum shots are too fake. Even worse, Elisabeth sports an ugly perm-that frizzy hair style so popular in the early 80s, which only makes her look like an ugly drag queen when she's not sucking and fucking. And Hubert Geral as her hubby is so bland and boring in the many sex scenes he's a participant.

And if all that isn't bad enough, the dubbing into English is truly wretched, sometimes out of synch, and these awful kissing sounds detract from the swift sexual shenanigans. Maybe I missed something interesting by not being able to view that last 10 or 20 minutes of TWO-WAY MIRROR, maybe not.

Look elsewhere for a complete review of TWO-WAY MIRROR from VCX-Cal Vista Classics but rest assured my misgivings about this awful U. S. re-release will be mirrored by others.
