The Movie

During the Golden Age of adult films, there were many enjoyable adult films produced with good plots and good acting. The birth of DVD has caused a great many of those films to see the light of day again allowing those who enjoyed them in the theaters to enjoy them today along with a whole new audience that never got the chance to see them in the theaters originally. Along with these true classic adult films, the bottom of the barrel of the one day wonders are also resurfacing. Adult films that for all right should have been lost to time that are also being brought back out to the light of day. Unfortunately, Three Cheers for B.J.U. is the latter.

Three Cheers for B.J.U., if that is its true name, is about some prostitutes who aren't very good at their job so they enlist the help of a sex educator to teach them how to be better. The title cards, if they ever existed, have been removed and there are no end credits at all, the film just cuts out at the end seemingly during a scene. I honestly don't know if this was how the film was originally made or if it has lost portions over the years. Three Cheers for B.J.U. has also been released on DVD by Something Weird Video under the name School for Hookers, I have no idea what the run time for that version was.

As it is, fifteen minutes of the scant run time are taken up by showing loops and what is original isn't the most coherent adult film to ever be made. I'm not sure what, if anything, would really be a draw to this film. The sex scenes aren't overly erotic, or even interesting for that matter. There are some amusing moments to the film, but not enough to really make it worth watching.

The Edition

This release of Three Cheers for B.J.U. comes from VCX and promises a remastered picture. Don't expect much as the master used was obviously a video master that was in poor shape. In addition to the imperfections from the at one time film master that was used to create the video master. The video master itself has decayed at this point offering glitches in the video in addition offering a very poor presentation. The sound is low and very murky, which makes it often very hard to hear. There are no extras included that have anything to do with the feature film, which given it's age, relative obscurity and possibly unknown original title, is not surprising.
