Thirteen Blue Doors is a loop carrier, no more and no less. Thirteen Blue Doors presents nine, not the expected 13, adult film loops. There isn't any attempt to connect the scenes as some loop carriers do. In this film, the viewer is shown a sequence of blue doors. Behind each door is one of the loops playing.

A name identifies each loop in the film; however, all of the loop identifications appear to have been made up for this film, or if they are the original loop names, they don't appear in any of the current loop indexes. Given that, at the time, loops were sometimes just shot for one theater, they could well be loops that aren't indexed today.

The loops in the film are “A Beer on the Rocks,” “Play Ball,” “Good Vibrations,” “The Landlord Collects His Rent,” “Clem, Jane, and the Weirdo Brother,” “Two Tongues for One Lickin',” “Dripping Wet in the Shower,” “Two Couples Docking at the Wharf,” and “Smoke Together, Cum Together.”

Loops, at least at this time, were silent pieces with just enough set up to give the viewer a hint at a story before the sex kicked in. For Thirteen Blue Doors dubbed dialog has been added to provide the film with more of a vignette feel than just a series of all sex loops.

Fans of adult loops should enjoy Thirteen Blue Doors. Since it is a loop carrier, the quality of each loop varies from one to the next. The added dialog is often inane; however, the viewer can recreate the original experience by just shutting off the volume. If one isn't a fan of loops, Thirteen Blue Doors won't be up your alley.

The edition of Thirteen Blue Doors screened is the streaming-only edition available on Exploitation.TV. Vinegar Syndrome has done a decent job with their streaming-only version of Thirteen Blue Doors. Thirteen Blue Doors was shot on 16mm film, and it looks like Vinegar Syndrome has used a film print for this release. Thirteen Blue Doors is presented in the Academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1 pillarboxed to the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1. The image quality for Thirteen Blue Doors is decent with artifacts, print damage and some jumps in the film. Since the film is composed of nine loops that have been sewn together, there are some fluctuations in quality; however not as bad a change as newer loop compilations have in the condition of the loops. The colors in the film are decent.

The available audio for Thirteen Blue Doors is an English monaural track. The audio presentation isn't bad with hiss, crackles, and pops. There are some jumps in the audio. The dialog in the film is clear and easy to understand at all times.

Vinegar Syndrome hasn't included any extras for their streaming-only edition of Thirteen Blue Doors.

Thirteen Blue Doors, which appears to have been curated by Terry Sullivan, is a collection of nine previously released adult film loops with dubbed in sound. The film will appeal to fans of 8mm adult film loops and will, quite obviously, not be of interest to viewers who didn't like loops. Vinegar Syndrome has done a decent job with their streaming-only release of Thirteen Blue Doors on Exploitation.TV with decent video and audio quality.
