Take Me Down Review

In the 1970s, Bertrand Blier made these incredible French comedies starring the buddy team of Gerard Depardieu and Patrick Dewaere in films like GET OUT YOUR HANDKERCHIEFS and GOING PLACES. So, porn director Burd Tranbaree took this buddy team concept and adapted it for XXX with his LE RETOUR DES VEUVES, (1979) which is also known as HOT YOUNG WIDOWS 2.

VCX has re-released this film under yet another title, TAKE ME DOWN, for its Cal Vista Classic series of DVDs for 2009. The original film is a real hoot but this poorly dubbed version drops this down a notch or two. Plus, the DVD sleeve is bound to confuse just about everyone as Serena appears to be the only person correctly identified.

Phil (Gerard Gregory) and Gil (Jean-Pierre Armand) share an apartment, share females; you name it. After a few gals perform a strip tease, the duo doggie fuck the pair (double doggy cum shots on the ass---!! 1/2) then plot their next move while reading Le Figaro.

So, the duo decide to hook up with recent widows, who are bound to be especially horny. Their first widow hook-up is Madelyn (the lovely Brigette Lahaie) but then there's the lovely Messenger Madelyn (Elisabethe Bure) who makes frequent appearance throughout the rest of TAKE ME DOWN. (Brigette has a brief straight sex scene---!!!, a short encounter with Elisabethe---!!, then the g/g duo join forces for a three-way with Gerard---!!!)

After some sort of mix-up, Gil brings back Messenger Madelyn to the apartment where he blindfolds Phil and tells him to guess what woman has returned home with him. (The buddy duo have a short but solid three-way with Elisabethe---!!! 1/2)

Widow Adelle (Daniele David) is cooking for Phil. Gil stops by and brings desert and interrupts some twat sucking and dick sucking. (It's another wacky scene as the duo share Daniele after Daniele and Jean-Pierre share that creamy desert---!!!)

Naked in their apartment, Phil and Gil decide to track down a woman whose dog died.

Phil delivers something on a leash to the sexy blonde widow (the very beautiful Dominique St. Claire) and it's Gil with a doggie biscuit in his mouth. Phil returns to help out man's best friend and the duo have fun with this widow who has strange moments with the picture of her dead Great Dane! (This scene is really terrific, and of course, there's plenty of doggie fucking---!!!!)

Messenger Madelyn shows up again at their apartment as they plot their next move. (Elisabethe gives them hand jobs while they read their telegrams then receives a wonderful double facial---!!! 1/2)

Phil and Gil track down another widow (the lovely Serena, the only US import in the film) and fuck her in a sexy slinky black dress. Messenger Madelyn joins the trio in a white wedding dress. (Another solid series of sucking and fucking thanks to Serena, Gerard, Jean-Pierre then Elisabethe, who looks fine mish-fucking in the wedding dress for the finale---!!!)

So, Burd Tranbaree's TAKE ME DOWN aka HOT YOUNG WIDOWS 2 aka LE RETOUR DES VEUVES (1979, VCX-Cal Vista Classic's dubbed, standard-frame re-release, 2009) has many terrific sexual encounters as Phil and Gil share many a merry widow. Too bad the dubbing sucks and begs me to take this XXX buddy comedy down. Final rating for TAKE ME DOWN is !!! outa !!!!!
