Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days is the roughly half-a-million dollar failure that started the beginning of the end for Jim and Artie Mitchell and the Mitchell Brothers Film Group. While the Mitchell Brothers Film Group would continue for another ten years, the financial and artistic failure of Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days obviously heavily effected Jim and Artie in ways they were never able to recover from.

Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days starts out with an out of place opening on the July of 1973 New York Supreme Court obscenity trial of Jim and Artie Mitchell's 1972 film Behind the Green Door, Danny Steinmann's 1973 film High Rise, Lloyd Kaufman's 1973 film The Newcomers, and The Innocent Abroad [sic] (Alex de Renzy's 1971 film Innocents Abroad?). Then Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days goes to 1980 B.C. Sodom, where Lot (Thom Glardon), his wife Milcah (Jacquie Brodie), and his daughters Sebe (Gina Forneli) and Leah (Deborah Brast) head to the plains of Jordan near Sodom after a kerfuffle and a rape causes him and his family to split from his traveling party. There they find that Yahweh's law has been set aside by Bera (Sean Brancato), the king of Sodom, for the god Anu's law — who claims to be the son of Anu. Per Anu's law, vaginal sex is prohibited in Sodom.

At the same time, two time-traveling astronauts (Tyler Reynolds and Raffles), who are space busters (astronauts who police the galaxies to keep the peace), in the spaceship Tarzania are heading to Earth, specifically Sodom, to rid the universe of Gonococcus sexualis. Once there, the astronauts are mistaken by Abraham (Yank Levine) as being the God — Yahweh.

Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days tells the story, in a way, of Lot from the book of Genesis in the Bible, however, the film doesn't stay very true to the original work. Readers who have read Genesis will know that the story of Lot would actually make for a rather interesting adult film while staying true to the source material.

Instead, Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days has turned God into two time-traveling astronauts — which one must assume seemed like a good idea at the time. One must also assume that Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days was meant to be a comedy; a comedy that must have looked far better on paper than it translated to the screen. From the chimpanzee astronaut, who speaks with a bad John Wayne impersonation to cum shooting out of a mounted moose head, clearly Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days was supposed to elicit laughter from the audience; and while a few of the jokes in the film do work (like the end of the sex scene with George S. McDonald and Gina Forneli) most of the jokes just fall flat.

In addition to the incomprehensible story, Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days suffers heavily from poor pacing, which is too bad considering the high production values that the film has. The sets for the film are incredibly well done and the locations are well picked as well. The costuming in the film is excellent. However, the lavish production values can't save Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days.

The biggest misgiving that Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days has is confusing absurdity with eroticism; a death blow to an adult film that has nothing else working in its favor. The film is filled with many short, but incomplete, sex scenes. There is an emphasis on anal sex and cum shots are a rarity within the film. However, actual eroticism isn't present within the sex scenes. In fact, some almost seem to try to be as anti-erotic as possible — for instance, the sex scene where Tyler Reynolds masturbates into a tube while watching Judy Kehrlein laying unconscious in a tank.

Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days will forever be remembered as the big budget massive commercial failure that forever broke the Mitchell Brothers Film Group. Sadly, the stories about the film are far better than the actual film itself that is bound to disappoint most viewers; as a result, it is impossible to recommend Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days.

The edition of Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days screened is the streaming and download version available from GameLink. Mitchell Brothers Film Group has done an excellent job with their streaming and download version of Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days. Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days was shot on 35mm film and it looks like Mitchell Brothers Film Group used a film print for this release (Although it is possible they used the camera negative.). This reviewer has been informed that a high quality video master was used for this release. Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days is presented in the Academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1 in 480p. The image looks great with the expected artifacts and some print damage (heavy at one point). The colors in the film look great.

Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days is presented with an English monaural audio track. There are crackles and pops aplenty during the presentation, however, the dialog in the film is clear and easy to hear at all times.

Mitchell Brothers Film Group hasn't included any extras for their streaming and download release of Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days.

Jim and Artie Mitchell's Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days is a truly bizarre adult film that tries to combine the story of Lot from Genesis with space aliens with disastrous results. The film boasts high production values but the pacing in the film is off, the story is ludicrous, and the sex scenes are extremely lacking. Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last Seven Days is an easy film to pass on. Mitchell Brothers Film Group has done an excellent job with their streaming and download version available on GameLink with a beautiful picture and good sound.
