Initial Expectations: Although I haven’t been too impressed with many of Fred J. Lincoln’s features, the cast here gives me some hope for this one.

Initial Reaction: It’s very different, very well done, and very questionable at times as spank material.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very clear and well balanced. There are a few places where the balance seems a little off, but they’re few and far between. The video is just as good. There’s very little grain throughout the feature, and the lighting is very well done. Mr. Lincoln also throws in a bit of black and white photography to help enhance the moods in a few places, which also gives some of the feature a nicely artistic feel.

Music: The music is very eerie and gives the scenes a very unique feel. It’s nicely balanced with the rest of the audio, but the balance does change a little to help the moods of the scenes.

Menus: The main menu has a great creepy feel to it that really starts the feature off right. It continues into the chapter menu, which lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene. Not surprisingly, it looks like Wicked put some nice effort into the menus, and it does a great job of creating the mood for the feature.

The Feature: On their way to Vegas, Stephanie Swift and Eric Masterson find themselves stranded in Sedah , Arizona, a true ghost town, when their car breaks down. Eric tries to find a phone to call for help, but even that’s hard to find. The only person around seems to be a large muscular man with a shaved head and quite a few tattoos (Uzd Prtz), who gives Stephanie a bad feeling from the first time she sees him. Things don’t get any better when Stephanie starts seeing, as well as experiencing, some of the ghostly residents of the town, all of whom appear to be extremely horny.

Anthony Crane and Jack Hammer start out enjoying the pleasures of Phyllisha Anne, Vivian Valentine, Leslie Rene, and Brooke Hunter as Stephanie Swift watches in near horror, and are soon joined by Uzd Prtz. The girls wear lightly done white and black face make-up, that gives the scene a very different feel from the start. The sex here is nicely varied, with Anthony taking on two of the girls, Jack taking on one girl at a time with a quick blowjob and then fucking, and Uzd only getting oral action. It makes for a scene with a little something for everybody, which continues into the pop shots. Jack pops on his partner’s tits, while the two girls suck Anthony’s cock and then share the rewards. Uzd is forgotten here, but it’s not too noticeable since he’s not featured much in the scene. It’s a very warm scene that does a great job of keeping a spooky feeling and them going through a porn scene. It’s not something I think is done much, for obvious reasons, but it is done pretty well here. It’s also continued very well in the non-sex portion of the scene when we find out that only Stephanie sees them. That’s right grown up boys and girls, Stephanie sees dead people.

Stephanie Swift finds herself enjoying being enjoyed by the ghostly Jessica Drake and Wendy Divine when she heads for the ladies room. The girls team up on Stephanie, with each one taking a side, and even make things a little acrobatic as Jessica eats Stephanie as she does a handstand, with the support of Wendy. Stephanie does get to give a little as well, with Jessica being the lucky recipient, but almost all of the scene focuses on Stephanie receiving. She never moves from between the two lovely lady ghosts, and even gets to enjoy Wendy’s strap on. The scene ends very abruptly and feels unfinished, which I normally hate, but this time it actually feels like it fits the movie. It’s not a nice ending, as you don’t see everybody getting fully satisfied, but it’s pretty obvious that Sedah, Arizona isn’t that nice of a place.

When mechanic Inari Vachs finds the hoses for the bus they’re on are bad, Michael J. Cox and Ian Daniels offer their hose tools for her use. The guys start out sucking Inari’s great natural tits before she drops down to orally calibrate their units. As usual, Inari’s oral skills, as well as her other skills, are impressive enough that I’m sure many people would love studying them in a college level class similar to the ones offered for The Beatles. She keeps herself nicely between the guys, fucking and sucking away, and finishing things off with a decent DP complete with some hard ass fucking. Ian finally pulls out and pops on her leg, letting Michael have Inari’s ass all to himself before finally blowing his baby batter on her bum. It’s a moderately hot scene, thanks to Inari’s enthusiasm. Unfortunately there aren’t many closeups on her face, especially during things like the DP, but the camera does move around to give quite a few nice perspectives of the action.

Stephanie hooks up with bikers Evan Stone, Erik Everhard, Alexandra Silk, and Ginger Paige next, as well as the ever present Uzd Prtz. While the others warm each other up in a nice licking lineup, Erik tongues Stephanie’s twat. He moves on to fuck Stephanie without any complimentary blowjob, and puts some very nice effort into it while Evan fucks Alexandra from behind and Uzd fucks Ginger’s face. Evan and Erik swap partners, and fuck their new partner from behind. Ginger soon comes over to join in, since once again, Uzd has disappeared. The guys switch around nicely between the girls before Eric explodes on Stephanie’s yummy natural chest and Evan decorates Ginger’s upper body and Alexandra’s tongue. It’s a fairly hot scene, but this time the music brought it down a bit for me.

Charlie, one of the most under-rated girls out there and a gorgeous brunette with a great body, and her real life partner Jonathan Simms, get busy on and around their convertible which has strangely broke down on the road outside of town with Stephanie Swift in the back seat. Stephanie runs off, and rather than chase after her, Charlie convinces Jonathan that he has better things to do, like her. She crawls onto the top of the back seat for Jonathan to lick her honey hole, and gives him plenty of directions as to speed and how much spit it should have. She reciprocates very nicely and gives Jonathan some great head. She looks like she really enjoys sucking cock, and puts some very nice energy into it as well as smiling and giving Jonathan plenty of lustful looks. They move onto some nicely energetic fucking, starting with some vaginal doggie and moving onto an anal pile driver. Charlie moves back up onto the top of the backseat for Jonathan to continue fucking her ass in a standing missionary before he gives her a good spooge soaking from her stomach to her face. It’s a very hot scene that reminds me why watching Charlie is always so enjoyable. She shows some great enthusiasm here, and puts a ton of energy into the scene as well. This is a pretty typical job for Charlie, and really makes me wonder why she never got more notice.

Stephanie finishes out the feature with a solo scene in a restaurant. She starts out dressed as a waitress and brings a tray of toys out to the counter. She strips down and then works her fingers into her twat while trash talking to herself . She eventually works her way up to a toy, and also drenches herself with a cup of water. The ending is very sharp, which ruins some of the heat, but up til then it was a pretty hot scene. This scene won’t be for everybody, and has a very dark feel to it. It’s a great ending scene, and does a great job of featuring Stephanie working on herself.

Shadowland is a very different adult feature. There’s a definite horror feel to the entire feature, including the sex scenes. There aren’t many plot sequences throughout the movie, but what non-sex scenes there are, do a great job of building the horror feel right up to the end. The sex scenes are also very well done, and unlike most adult features, mostly focus on group scenes. Out of six scenes, there’s only one couples scene and one masturbation scene, with the remaining four scenes being group scenes. Unlike most scenes, the sex is hot and well done, but it might not be the best for those looking for a good wank. The sex scenes have a very dark mood, much of which is due to the music, but the mood is also helped along by some of the artistic liberties Mr. Lincoln takes. Although Shadowland isn’t the hottest adult feature Wicked has come out with, it’s still very well done and one that’s worth watching for anybody who likes any of the cast members.

Audio bios are included for Stephanie Swift, Alexandra Silk, Inari Vachs, Jessica Drake, Charlie, Brooke Hunter, Ginger Paige, Evan Stone, Ian Daniels, and Anthony Crane. Wicked put some nice effort into the bios, which include some nice photos, personal information, and a link to the star’s scene. The photo gallery lasts about three and a quarter minutes with about five seconds per photo. The photos nicely mix together snapshots and full screen shots, and gives a nice view of the feature. There’s also the Wicked Casino, Wicked Web, AVN noms and winners list, and a company profile.

The main extra, however, is a twenty three minute featurette on the making of the feature. Stephanie Swift starts it out with a nice interview talking about the feature and starting things out. The featurette contains a nice blend of cast interviews, showing the scenes being shot, and the cast screwing around. There’s also a few stupid human tricks with Jessica Drake and Wendy Divine. It’s a nice behind the scenes featurette.

Themes: Straight, group, lesbian, spanking, toys, DP, and anal

Raincoat Factor: Medium to medium high, depending on your mood. If the music doesn’t affect you, you should be able to get a very good wank out of this feature.

Overall: Currently, Shadowland can be found online for between $21 and $30 with a pretty even spread between the stores. This is a pretty fair price unless you’re looking for pure spanking material. The sex is pretty hot, but there’s a dark feel that might turn off some people. The transfer and extras are also very well done, and finish this off as a nicely done DVD.

Note to Wicked: At first this doesn’t seem like something that would come from Wicked due to the darker nature of the feature. It’s nice to see you branching out a little.
