Initial Expectations: For some reason, Alexandra Silk seems to be highly underrated (just like freeing the weed is). I’ve enjoyed almost all of her performances so I have some fairly high hopes for this title as well as the rest of the series.

Initial Reaction: It’s a very fun gonzo feature that makes me want to watch more in the series right away.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of Alexandra Silk and gonzo sex such as the Shane’s World and Misty Rain’s World Wide Sex series.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who demands a plot with their porn or extremely high production values.

Audio /Video Quality: Gonzo features are notorious for bad audio and video quality. Although the audio and video aren’t up to studio feature quality here, they’re a lot better than normal gonzo porn. The audio is normally very clear and well balanced. Yes, there are some background noises, but in some spots, such as in the motor home, it adds to the realism of the scene. The video suffers a little from shadows and soft focus problems, but that’s expected with this type of feature. There’s also a little bit of pixelation in places.

Music: The music stays in the background very nicely for most of the feature. In some places you have to pay attention specifically for it to be able to hear it. In a few places it’s the only audio, which fits nicely as the camera is obviously outside of where the action is.

Menus: The main menu for Sex Across America: 1st Stop Las Vegas is set up as a hand of playing cards. It’s a nice touch that brought a smile to my face right away.

The Feature: From what I’ve heard, Luc Wylder and Alexandra Silk are two of the nicest people you could meet from the adult film business. It made me really want to like this first volume of Sex Across America, and luckily I started to before the opening credits even rolled. Alexandra and Luc open up the volume with a little introduction to the series as well as a few comments about Vegas and Alexandra’s parents getting married at the Chapel of Love.

After the opening credits, things cut to the inside of the motor home where a few of the cast introduces themselves. Right away it reminded me of the first Shane’s World feature, and I’m sure I won’t be the only one. Of course, there’s plenty of fun on the motor home, such as an underwear check on Alexandra (who isn’t wearing any but shows off her new piercing nicely) and Alexandra and Gauge giving the car behind them a little show. Gauge stays in the back bedroom since Mojo comes back to give her a little loving. Gauge has a fairly realistic look, despite a large tattoo on her back. She has natural tits and is very average looking. Mojo, however, is far below average looking and has a lot of tattoos as well as a pierced tongue. He looks like he should be standing on the nearest street corner holding a sign that reads “Will work for drugs... Vivarin OK”. Despite this, he and Gauge work good together and they do build a little heat before he pops on her tits.

Meanwhile, Alexandra heads up to give Luc, who’s driving, and Dale DaBone, who’s riding shotgun, a little show. Of course, Dale has to do something about it and starts fingering her pussy a little. She starts to suck him off and Luc joins in by playing with her pussy as he drives down the road. Dale stands up for a little different position and Alexandra keeps going to town on his rod with her normal aggressive oral nature, even taking him down her throat a little. Luc finally pulls over and Dale nails Alexandra on the dashboard as everybody else takes a little walk around outside. After going on the tallest roller coaster in the world, Luc, Alexandra, and company finally find there way into Sin City (not to be confused with a company that currently puts out lesser quality DVDs). As they drive around town in a limo, Alexandra and Anastasia Blue team up on Billy Glide’s cock. Anastasia has a reputation for giving one of the best blowjobs in the business, but it looks like she’s got some stiff competition (pun intended) from Alexandra. Alexandra takes on Blake Leigh while Gauge works Mojo over some more. It’s another nice scene where everybody looks like they’re enjoying themselves. It’s not at all uncommon to see somebody on the screen smiling, which can raise almost any scene that doesn’t include Ed Powers. All of the women stand out in this scene in one way or another. Gauge stands out here as she gives Mojo an upside down blowjob. Heaven also does a great job, but I can’t help but be turned off with what she’s done to her body. She seems to really get into the scene and does have a very cute face. Alexandra stands out by how much she seems to be enjoying herself and Anastasia stands out with a great sexual intensity. I’m surprised she hasn’t fucked or sucked anybody to death yet. All of the girls finish off the scene by taking at least a little jizz in their mouth. Billy and Anastasia are the last to finish off, and we get a nice view of Heaven letting her fingers do the walking as she watches them finish up. It’s a decent orgy scene but suffers the normal problem of orgy scenes. You always want to see more of at least a couple of the couples and don’t get to because you have to catch some of the other couples as well. This one is balanced pretty well, but I would have liked to have seen more of Anastasia and Heaven.

Back in the hotel, Alexandra calls for a little female entertainment in the room. Alexandra greets Monica at the door and introduces her to the crew and explains a little about the show to her. Monica is a fairly cute black woman with a great ass, implants, and bell bottoms big enough for several families of migrant workers to live under. Monica gives Alexandra a dance in the room as Alexandra drools over her body. Monica also works herself over with a toy as Alexandra watches close enough to smell everything. Monica finally gives in a little and lets Alexandra fuck her with the dildo in her mouth. It’s an okay scene but drags on a little long.

Anastasia Blue gets Blake Leigh alone in a hotel room for the final scene. She starts out by giving him a foot massage and then has him pinch and play her nipples with his feet. He pays attention enough to have her wiggling around as he goes down on her. She returns the favor by sucking him off with enough spit to reclaim a good portion of the Sahara Desert. She really gets into it when fucking Blake also. I’m glad she doesn’t have implants as she might knock herself out if she did. At the very least she’d probably have two black eyes for most of the time. Not surprisingly, she takes it up the ass with the same energy as when it’s in her pussy. It’s a hot scene and a great one to finish the feature with. Unfortunately it does have a bit of slow motion, but even that’s not enough to bring this scene down much. They finish it off with Blake blowing his baby batter over her butt.

Sex Across America: Las Vegas gives a nice start to the Sex Across America series. The only complaint I can start to make about it is that I would have liked Alexandra Silk to have taken it in the ass since she talked about it so much. Luc’s a great host and Alexandra provides enough enthusiasm for ten features in this one alone. As I said earlier, I’ve heard that Luc and Alexandra are two of the nicest people in the adult film industry that you could hope to meet, and it really comes across throughout the entire feature. Alexandra appears a little ditsy, but it’s almost impossible not to like her because she’s so enthusiastic about everything which makes almost everything a lot of fun. It’s rare to find gonzo features, or any adult features for the matter, with so much of the cast enjoying themselves so much. Yes, it does seem very reminiscent of some other gonzo series, but as long as it keeps up with good sex and a cast where everybody looks like they’re having a great time, I’m not going to mind. I’m already ready for Luc and Alexandra’s journey to the next city.

There’s a nice little bit of information, some of which is a lot of fun, as well as link to one of the star’s scenes. The slide show is set up similar to the one in Emerald Rain. The twenty slides are shown as thumbnails over two screens and you can pick which ones you want to see as full screen pictures. Of course, there’s also the website link.

Most notable of the extras is the thirty one minute behind the scenes featurette. It’s a lot more cut footage than behind the scenes, but you get quite a few shots with the cameramen in there as well. A lot of the clips didn’t make it for good reason, but there is some good stuff here as well. There’s a lot of stuff from the motor home that’s just cut footage, but in some of the other scenes, such as the final scene between Anastasia and Blake, you get to see a little of the behind the scenes action. About a third of the featurette is Alexandra and Luc waking up the cast and some of the crew. It’s a really fun scene that made me wonder if Alexandra ever comes down. It also gave me a whole new appreciation for Billy Glide. There’s also an interview with Gauge talking about being sent to the Kiddie Corner in the casino and a few other clips. It’s a really nice behind the scenes that adds quite a bit to the feature. There’s a little bit of everything here and it had me laughing quite a few times.

Overall: Sex Across America: 1st Stop Las Vegas is currently available online for $13 or $23. Only two stores are offering it right now, so I’m sure many others will start filling in the blanks soon. For under $15 it’s a steal. No, the production values aren’t what you get from a high budget studio porno, but this is gonzo and for that it looks and sounds pretty good. It’s a really fun feature with the rarity of a cast where almost everybody looks like they’re having a great time and the extras add quite a bit to the overall package. Check this one out.

Note to Adam & Eve: Nice job. I know the original tape limits what you can do, but for gonzo it’s pretty good. The behind the scenes is really great and added a lot to the overall DVD. I also really liked the new format for the bios and photo gallery, which I hope we’ll see a little more. The only thing I can think of to make this series better is that you don’t forget Minnesota as the series makes it’s way across the country.
