DVD Sampler 5 presents information for 264 Private titles, 20 trailers, 3 full scenes and contact details for resellers. I received this promotional disc for free and quite like the idea, even if the execution in this case is a little lacking.
Although I was impressed by the scenes, there really isn’t much to the rest of the disc. The trailers are too short at only 1-2 minutes each and the information (languages, subtitles, length, list of extras) too limited to make a confident buying decision. Also the discrepancy between the total number of titles listed and the small number of trailers was too uneven.
Scene 1). The first of the three scenes comes from Private Reality 3 and credits its performers (Sophie Evans with Ramon Nomar & Toni Ribas), which was a nice inclusion. The video quality was sharp and the attention to detail obvious, though I wasn’t thrilled with the letterboxing. Sophie fantasies about sex with two co-workers.
Scene 2). Scene two comes from Exotic Illusions 2 and features a blonde, an attractive brunette and a guy. Again the video quality was excellent, thankfully without letterboxing. The guy has anal sex with both of them on a rather pleasant-looking beach. The sex was fairly routine.
Scene 3). The final scene comes from Private’s Fetish & Magic and I recognised Michelle Wild but was unable to identify the other girl or guy. I was very impressed with the effort invested in the scene’s colour and style, and by the sex itself. Indeed, I’d consider buying the movie based on what I saw.
Again, I think samplers are a good idea but I can’t see this limited offering generating much revenue. Substantial information like cast lists, large cover graphics, photo galleries and scene summaries would be really useful to consumers, and there need to be many more longer trailers, perhaps in place of the full scenes.
I don’t mind receiving promotional materials like this from studios, but ultimately I didn’t find this sampler useful and wouldn’t make any purchases because of it.
