DVD Sampler 5 presents information for 264 Private titles, 20 trailers, 3 full scenes and contact details for resellers. I received this promotional disc for free and quite like the idea, even if the execution in this case is a little lacking. Although I was impressed by the scenes, there really isnt much to the rest of the disc. The trailers are too short at only 1-2 minutes each and the information (languages, subtitles, length, list of extras) too limited to make a confident buying decision. Also the discrepancy between the total number of titles listed and the small number of trailers was too uneven. Scene 1). The first of the three scenes comes from Private Reality 3 and credits its performers (Sophie Evans with Ramon Nomar & Toni Ribas), which was a nice inclusion. The video quality was sharp and the attention to detail obvious, though I wasnt thrilled with the letterboxing.

What do you do with a sampler disc? Well, if youre a reseller, you check out its title listings, each with a brief synopsis, and try to decide which movies are worth adding to your stock. Then perhaps you check your list against the trailers. If youre an ordinary porn consumer, you skip right to the hardcore scenes. Privates DVD Sampler 5 includes a host of titles in various series, 20 trailers, and 3 triple-X scenes (which clock in at about an hours worth of sex). If youre a reseller, your return on investment might be worthwhile; if youre not, youd be better off adding the cost of this disc to your porno slush fund and waiting for something better to come along. Quantitatively an hour of sex on a sampler disc isnt bad. On the other hand, the lack of a Play All option means that you have to keep reaching for the remote, which, depending on how you use your porn, can be inconvenient. The real problem, though, is that the three scenes selected are not among Privates best. Two are fantasy episodes and all are threeways.

Private has put far less previews on this disc than on Private Presents DVD Sampler 2, which brings down the usefulness of the disc. Not bad as a free disc with an order, but I would hesitate to actually spend money on it.
