Private Movies 1: Sex Slider: Shag-A-Rama Review

Save for a few high school language classes in French, my interest and exposure to European culture is limited to a few childhood episodes of THE BENNY HILL SHOW (which I watched mainly for the occasional glimpses of female nudity in his skits). Why go to any other country when America has hot and cold running water, automatic ice cube makers, Quarter Pounders with cheese (as opposed to "Royales" with cheese) and porn superstars from Ginger Lynn to Racquel Darrian to Tera Patrick? Well, at long last, thanks to Private Video, I have found a reason to expand my cultural tastes beyond the sacred borders of the United States.

Their recent release, titled SEX SLIDER SHAG-A- RAMA (which I suppose is some hybrid of a long- cancelled American TV show called SLIDERS --- which featured the lovely Kari Wuhrer --- and the now-tired catch phrase from AUSTIN POWERS), is almost an embarassment of erotic riches, and features typical gorgeous blondes Caroline and Dru Barrymore as dimension-hoppers trying to promote and encourage sexual behavior amidst government oppression...Whatever. In any event, SSSAR opens up with a simply terrific orgy scene, which is a rarity in most American productions because of the costs and logistics involved in coordinating the action. While my preference leans toward brunettes, the sight of four beautiful blondes getting it on in all sorts of combinations and positions immediately convinced me that this disc was a keeper. As always, every cumshot ends up as an oral facial, and the girls take the time to smile directly for the camera, which is signature look for Private Video.

Amidst all the golden-haired beauties in this movie, brunette sexpot Jenny is a standout in her straight scene with some anonymous dude. She displays an attitude which suggests that she is totally into her blowjobs and anal scenes, and it's a pity that she doesn't make another appearance in the video. Another highlight is the inevitable girl-girl scene with Caroline and Dru, "coerced" into indulging in each other's naked company by the Sex Police. Lots of extended foreplay with deep tongue kissing and a slow, sensuous sixty-nine make this one of the better lesbian encounters I have seen in awhile, and the billowing white curtains surrounding the performers are a nice artistic touch. Unlike most porno made in the States, condoms are thankfully absent during all of the guy-girl scenes, and the women always look fresh-faced and covergirl perfect even during their most athletic sexual workouts. I would have preferred to see more variety of color in this cast (hell, even if it's just hair color!), but that is pure nitpicking.

The remaining three straight scenes are more of the same excellence; Private never, ever cheats in showing a full and enthusiastic fuck and suck scene, and the camera work always allows the viewer to see the action up close and personal. Admittedly, Europorn does sometimes suffer from the somewhat mechanical quality in which the sex is performed. These women do almost any [legal] sexual act under the sun, without hesitation, and certainly without reservation. While some Vivid Girls are somewhat coy and have a holier-than- thou attitude in doing their jobs before the camera, the girls at Private seem to know no bounds, which can make their scenes look rather routine. However, if you compare almost any product from Private with almost any random DVD from either VCA, or Elegant Angel, or Evil Angel, or Vivid, or Legend, or any other American-based company, there is a distinct difference in quality and quantity, and frankly, most Eurovids can't be matched. Again, I say this not to put down American products, but to point out that there is strong competition for your DVD dollar and that the consumer deserves the best for their money.

Extras on this DVD are (surpise, surprise) excellent. A trailer is provided, as well as production notes and a star biography which actually contains some useful information as well as a listing of the actresses' Private Video work. The language section is useful for those who get their kicks from hearing porn dialogue performed in different dialects, but most of the sound is dubbed anyhow (which sometimes distracts from viewing experience). The photo gallery features well-chosen, and well shot still pictures, as opposed to video captures randomly chosen throughout the movie.

SEX SLIDERS SHAG-A-RAMA is a great porn flick and is highly recommended. When it comes to porn, Buy European!
