People Trap is an adult short film by the pseudonymous director Prestho. It is likely that People Trap premiered at Lowell Pickett and Arlene Elster's Sutter Cinema's First International Erotic Film Festival — which due to attendance had to be moved from Sutter Cinema to the Presidio Theatre and also ended up being the only International Erotic Film Festival put on by Sutter Cinema. While the festival was one that accepted entries and awarded prize money.

Unlike some of the other entries in Sutter Cinema's First International Erotic Film Festival that were made by film students from San Francisco State University, People Trap looks like an established adult film director made it. Reportedly established adult film directors such as Pat Rocco and a pseudonymous Jerry Abrams entered the festival as well.

Unlike the more experimental adult short films that were entered in Sutter Cinema's First International Erotic Film Festival, People Trap feels like a working pornographer made it. While other entries in the festival — such as The Ordeal of Donald Hewitt and Roses for Zingara — have played with the genre, People Trap plays out like a more standard adult short film.

The set-up for People Trap is that a girl (Gia Faye) is wandering around the woods in Marin County, California, and comes across an odd box. While she investigates the box, a man with an ax (Max Kune), shows up and lures her to his cabin with the promise of listening to records.

The premise is paper thin and very adult film feeling in design since in real life it makes no sense and only exists to lead to the sex scene. The sex scene itself is shot somewhat standard for the time with gynecological close-ups being often utilized. The woods and the cabin used are good and add to the feel of the short film; however, People Trap can't escape feeling like the typical adult short film being shot at the time with nothing overly special going for it.

The edition of People Trap screened is the streaming-only edition available on Exploitation.TV. Vinegar Syndrome has done a very nice job with their streaming-only edition of People Trap. People Trap was shot on film, and it looks like Vinegar Syndrome has used the camera negative for their release. People Trap is presented in the Academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1 pillarboxed to the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1. The image for People Trap looks good with minimal artifacts and print damage present. The colors in People Trap look good.

The audio for People Trap is an English monaural track. The sound for the short film is good with crackles and pops. The dialog in the film is clear and easy to understand during the short film presentation.

Vinegar Syndrome hasn't included any extras for their streaming-only edition of People Trap.

People Trap is an adult short film from a pseudonymous director going by the moniker Prestho. People Trap is one of the entries from Sutter Cinema's First International Erotic Film Festival, and the least enjoyable of the entries that this reviewer has seen thus far. The other entries from Sutter Cinema's First International Erotic Film Festival that this reviewer has seen all played with the adult film format and were likely made by film students. People Trap is a more standard all sex film with slightly more content than the 8mm loops that were being made at the time, and feels like a more established pornographer made it. Vinegar Syndrome's streaming-only edition on Exploitation.TV looks and sounds good.
