The Review |
Synopsis:
Nirva (Chasey Lain) is on a mission, from the future, to try and save Earth from its destruction by men but through a series of blunders it looks as if her mission will be a failure.
Video/Audio:
The Original Wicked Woman is presented in the full screen aspect ratio, 1.33:1, which appears to be the original aspect ratio for the film. The video quality for the film is excellent. The color levels are good and I don't remember any artifacts, blemishes or glitches in the picture. As for the stock footage, which has seen better days and has video problems.
The original audio track is an English 2.0 Stereo track that actually sounds as if it is monaural. However, it is all that is necessary considering the content in the film. The dialog can be clearly heard at all times during the film. There are also dubbed French 2.0 Stereo and dubbed Spanish 2.0 Stereo tracks available but there are no subtitle options available.
Chapters/Time Code:
There are six chapters available from the main menu for The Original Wicked Woman and 14 within the film itself. The chapters are identified with a video clip from the scene in the film to which the chapter goes. The chapter system allows for decent navigation through the film. There is a time code for the feature film, so time searching is available.
Special Features:
Although Wicked has filled the disc with several extras, very few of them have to do with the feature film. Then again, this is an older film of Wicked's so there probably isn't that much material available to them for extras. As for the extras that actually relate to the feature film, there are several photo galleries, there is the movie gallery that contains stills from the film. The behind the scenes gallery that contains photos that usually include members of the production staff. And there are star galleries for Chasey Lain, P.J. Sparxx, Celeste, Isis Nile and Sahara Sands. There are audio bios which contain, audio and text information, along with photos and a Wicked filmography for Isis Nile, Steven St. Croix, Alex Sanders, P.J. Sparxx, Chasey Lain, and Celeste.
Then there is Wicked's standard crop of extras on the disc as well. There is the company profile, that give the history behind Wicked Pictures. AVN & Wicked Award winners and nominations lists past Wicked films that have received awards. The promotional material contains the adult expo reels for Wicked Pictures. The Free Speech Coalition is an advert for the organization of the same name. There are also trailers included for Working Girl, Knockout, Flashpoint, Crazed, Vengeance, Dreamquest, and The Bride of Double Feature.
DVD-ROM Special Features:
The Wicked web hyperlink allows you to go straight to Wicked's website. The Wicked Casino is a free casino program that you have to install on your computer that allows you to play casino style games online against opponents for Wicked Cash or just by yourself for fun. The available casino games are Black Jack, Roulette, Baccarat, Slots and Poker.
Review:
The Original Wicked Woman is one of Wicked's older catalog titles from the early 90s, from when some really fun pornos were made and The Original Wicked Woman was definitely one of them. This is the kind of porn that you can't take seriously for if you do, you will be sorely disappointed. The biggest error is that Adam (Tom Byron), the first man on Earth is sporting tattoos. The other giant error that flies off the screen is the use of velcro in the country of France in roughly the year 1429. However, despite its technical fallacies, The Original Wicked Woman still manages to provide 90 minutes of fun.
The idea behind the film is cool and is well played out in the film. The film is filled with corny jokes, some that you will laugh at and others that will just make you groan. I have to say that the end of the film is horribly cheesy and was probably the worst part of the entire film. On an interesting note, Chasey Lain's breast implants that she got during the filming of the movie, was written into the story.
Some of the sets used the film end up looking really cheesy, for instance, the Garden of Eden which contains astroturf and has a pruned tree in it. Others, like Joan of Arc's castle in France looks surprisingly good. And as simple and stereotypical that it is, I liked the space ship set quite a bit. The cheesy sets don't detract from the film though, instead they add the B-movie feel to the film and end up adding to the fun. There is some nice music used during the film and there is some great costuming, or lack of it in the Adam and Eve scene, in the film. Again, the Joan of Arc scene takes home the prize for costuming as well.
The cast looks great, although I have to admit that I am biased since I am a fan of Chasey Lain. Unfortunately for those of us that like natural breasts, she got her implants during this film so you see her nice natural breasts balloon up. P.J. Sparxx looks especially good in her scene with Chasey Lain that is sure to get your blood flowing. The cast interacts well with each other despite some sexual overacting, especially on Ms. Lain's part during her scene with Tom Byron. When you see the end of that scene, you'll understand.
The sex is well done, but some viewers may be disappointed since it is all on the tame side, despite the inclusion of some nastier acts like anal fingering and DP. On the other hand, this opens the film up to more adventurous couples viewers. The lesbian scene with Chasey Lain and P.J. Sparxx has got to be the best scene in the film, with the final scene with Chasey and Alexis DeVell being the worst in the film. The sexual themes in the film are oral, vaginal and anal sex with lesbianism, fingering, anal fingering, DP and internal cumshots. For viewers who care about such things, there were no condoms used in the film.
The Money Shot:
So, in conclusion, if you are a fan of the fun movies from the late 80s and early 90s, you definitely need to check out The Original Wicked Woman. The sex is on the tamer side, so the film should be fully accessible to couples viewers and the film will best be enjoyed by viewers who like porno with a plot. Viewers who require nasty sex, hate a plot or require historical accuracy in their adult erotica will want to look elsewhere. If you don't buy this film, it is certainly worth a rental.
