Initial Expectations: Ernest Greene's movie's have had some good thoughts at heart, but often come up short on the execution. I'm not expecting much different here.

Initial Reaction: It has a nice idea, but the bare bones approach Ernest Greene uses holds it back from being as hot as it might have been.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are a bit weak. The audio has a decent balance, but there's also a lot of background noises that sound to be from things like fans. The video is presented in the full frame ratio, but is consistently dark with just a touch of grain.

Menus: The main menu is okay, and blends a still from the cover with a little animation. The chapter menu is extremely basic, and just lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Nina Hartley's Anal Kinksters goes with a simple idea. Nina Hartley leads the movie, and focuses on some of the aspects of sexiness while wrapping the scenes around anal action. There's frequently a bit of tease to start out the scenes, and Nina also appears in a few of the scenes rather than just guiding the action from the shadows.

Scene 1 – Layla Jade and Evan Stone

While Evan has his morning coffee, Layla pours cream all over her rubber dress - covered front. Scene 3 – Mika Tan and Howie Wood

This was a very frustrating scene for that reason, and it should have ended up making it far past the average mark where it ended up.

Scene 4 – Shayla LaVeaux and Randy Spears

Scene 5 – Julie Meadows, Chris Cannon, and Evan Stone

Scene 6 – Anastasia Pierce and Nina Hartley

There's some nice chemistry between Anastasia and Nina, and Anastasia does take it in the ass quite well, but that just wasn't enough for me. This was another pretty average scene, and it would have been a lot better with a decent ending.

Nina Hartley's Anal Kinksters is a fairly frustrating release. It has some great potential in the scenes, and a cast who can do anal very well. The problem with it all is the lighting and camera work. The lighting is so low that you can't help but wonder if something's wrong when you can see everything, and there are plenty of times when you can't even tell what hole's getting fucked. There's some nice chemistry, but when you feel that the action's there and you just can't see it, one can't help but get frustrated with the movie. Randy Spears and Shayla LaVeaux's scene was by far the best, but even it had plenty of lighting problems. Nina Hartley's Anal Kinksters has great potential, but the piss poor lighting in every scene and limited camera work never let it come close to achieving it.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts twenty minutes. Ernest and Nina start things out dealing with cast problems and trying to set up the scene while Evan Stone, as usual, adds plenty of humor. There's a few words with Julie Meadows and Chris Cannon as well, and even Sharon Kane shows up for a chat with Nina. Anastasia Pierce chats with Nina about marriage a little before they work on their scene. This is a nicely done behind the scenes featurette. There's plenty of personality from the cast, and more than a few chuckles. There's also a great feeling to it that Nina and Ernest want people who enjoy sex and are doing it as much for their own personal enjoyment as the money. My only complaint here is that the entire cast isn't included in it, but that's a fairly small complaint with how nicely the rest of this featurette is done.

Currently, Adam & Eve’s DVDs can be found online for between $8 and $25, with several stores offering this line of DVDs for around $15. Aim low here or rent this one first. There's some very nice chemistry and decent anal action, but the low lighting and limited camera work held back every scene for me. There is a little effort put into the extras, which was very nice, but the entire DVD falls short due to the lighting or lack thereof.

Note to Adam & Eve: Ernest and Nina can have some nice idea, but in the future, please give them enough money so their lighting budget can enter at least the world of double digits.
