Live Show, The Review

Review:
When a sex club owner finds himself on a losing streak and owing his bookie a ton of dough, he has little choice but to spice up the offerings at his erotic establishment. Fortunately, by twisting the arm of a musical talent agent who owes him rent money, he's able to land a down-on-their-luck couple/act that's willing to add sex to their performance repertoire. Such is the case in "The Live Show", an overall-good, 1979 release from VCX and director Young Lee. Despite its simple premise and short running time, this film is actually a lot of fun. It beautifully captures the grit, grime, and sleaze that one would have expected from the 1970's sex club scene--complete with some nice, historic shots of various neon signs--as well as laying down some solidly dirty shtupping in its own right. Further, its plot, while not the most sophisticated nor intricate, is sexy and borderline comical, well blended in both, and nicely complementing of its sex. While not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, most fans of the classics will likely get something out of this fun, little fuck-flick of yore. This reviewer certainly did.

In terms of the sex, Scene One has a brunette waitress at the club, Marlene Munroe, assuaging a blonde dancer's, Sandy Pinney's, hurt feelings in the dressing room with her fingers and tongue. Of course, Pinney returns the favor in kind (girl-girl). In Scene Two, Marlene Munroe blows her boss, Jessie Chandler, at his desk (oral ; supposed swallow), while Scene Three brings together a pair of hippy(ish) lovers and musicians who are down and out, Blair Harris and Christine DeShaffer, in their apartment after another failure at finding a gig (oral, vaginal, anal ; pop on her bush). In Scene Four, Marlene Munroe blows Jessie Chandler at his desk again, this time until he pops in her hand and in her mouth (facial). Scene Five finds Sandy Pinney "auditioning" for a role in films with Jesse Adams in her dressing room at the club (oral, vaginal ; pop on her ass). In Scene Six, Blair Harris strums his guitar whilst Christine DeShaffer sucks his dick onstage at the club, as the two have apparently found their performance niche (oral ; facial). Scene Seven has Jessie Chandler and Marlene Munroe once again going at it at his desk, this time as he fucks her while counting the cash (vaginal ; money-shot on the wad of bills piled up on her backside). In Scene Eight, the blonde Cris Cassidy treats a musical talent agent, Lee LeMay, and his buddy, Jesse Adams, to a good ole fashioned fucking, all as she pretends to be a stereotypical Native American (oral--LeMay, vaginal--Jesse, anal--Jesse ; facial from LeMay and pop on the ass by Adams). Hot stuff!
