Review:
Led by the coolest cat of the 80's, Jack Baker (RIP), a handful of jive-talking fella's hang out in a tiny, dingy apartment whose walls are plastered with centerfolds ("Hi, Susie Scott!"), as they smoke weed and bull-shit around about their exploits with white women. Of course, the various tall-tales come to life--true or not--as they play out on the screen. So goes Let Me Tell Ya 'Bout White Chicks, a good, 1984 release from directors Donald Dash and, of course, the infamous Gregory Dark. Essentially a set of stereotypes come to life, this production may not sit well with everyone when viewed through a modern lens, but Dark--boasting an education at elite institutions--had always been known to push the boundaries and partake in the outrageous for artistic purposes. Clearly, context is necessary here (both in terms of time-frame and the director's intent), particularly as one takes in the exaggerated caricatures of both races in this 35+ year old flick.
As far as the sex goes, it's generally hot, though often fairly standard (at least by current standards). Highlights include the ditzy blonde, Deidra Hopkins, answering the door and letting in Fast Talking Sammy and Robbie Dee, who are posing as telephone repairmen. With Hopkins clad only in pink lingerie (sans panties), the guys are far more interested in taking her--which they do (even anally)--than in looking at her phone. Also scorching is the closer, in which Jack Baker produces the real-life (in the film) Kristie Duval for his nay-saying buddy, Tony El-Ay. Of course, Tony can't resist Kristie's advances, and he and Baker (whose acting is superb, by the way) ultimately fuck her out, with El-Ay also taking her in the butt. Definitely a strong (rear-) ending. (The remainder of the scenes follow suit but don't quite achieve the level of these two.)
While this one won't be for everyone, it does have its sexual moments, and it does hold some historical value...particularly as it pertains to the raw, unpolished approach that Dark and company took in the 80's. For the right crowd, it's worthy.
