Heartfelt 2 (Ultimate) Review

Since I somehow managed to miss the first HEARTFELT video upon its initial release, I can't comment how this sequel compares with the original. However, after viewing this rather hackneyed release, I have to imagine that the first movie was a little better (or at least somewhat popular) or else we would never have seen the likes of HEARTFELT 2. Although Shayla LaVeaux is prominently featured on the cover, and looks as gorgeous as ever, Laura Palmer has the real leading role in the nearly non-existent story. Shayla does have two girl-guy scenes, neither of which are very memorable or ourstanding in any way. The remaining five scenes are unfortunately average, despite some enthusiastic performances who try to generate a little "heart" in this lifeless movie.

From the opening scene of this movie, things start off with a bang...a gangbang, to be exact, with Cara Lott at the center of five guys desperately trying to vye for her attention as well as for her sexual orifices. Unfortunately, Ms. Lott, who appears to be making a comeback to adult movies since her heyday in the mid-1980s, looks a little too weather-beaten under the harsh lighting and flat look of video. At best, she looks like the OBHIT (Old, But Hanging In There) mother of another legendary porn superstar, Tianna. Since this scene makes up for almost twenty-percent of the video's running time, I was less than thrilled by what I considered to be a wasted scene. Of course, longtime Cara Lott fans may feel differently.

Since my fandom allegiance belongs to Sexy Shayla, I had assumed that her sexual romps would save what was obviously going to be an overall average video. Shayla demonstrates her cock- sucking skills to great effect whenever she is on- screen, but the overly-bright look of her scenes also fail to flatter her. In additions, the glaringly apparent condoms are just too distracting and ruin the fantasy element which is the raison d'etre of porn. Director Thomas Paine misses a lot of opportunities to show Shayla off at her sexiest; instead of dressing her up in tight outfits and lacy lingerie which would show off her curvy, petite figure, we just see her buck naked at almost all times. Overall, although Shayla's presence is thoroughly appreciated in this video, her scenes are a waste.

Surprisingly, the best scene on this disc comes courtesy of Amber Lynn's brother, Buck Adams who gets to have a threesome with Shelby Mine and Randee Lee. Their dual-action blowjobs is at least something different to watch among all the straightforward girl-guy scenes which make up for the majority of HEARTFELT 2. Although I have seen far better threesomes in far better videos, I was getting more than a little itchy at finding a sexually redeeming moment in this lackluster feature.

I don't mean to be too hard on this DVD. But clearly, with the lack of any extras and any sexual substance in HEARTFELT 2, this is not of Adam & Eve's best efforts. Since I have seen this title at bargain prices on many retail DVD sites, I can't complain too much about what is admittedly a discount release. Shayla fans will be able to add this disc to their collections without being ripped off, but those expecting a performance best will be disappointed.
