The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Although I’ve heard a lot about Guy Capo, this is the first I’ve seen of his work. I’m going into it with very high expectations.

Initial Reaction: Although the movie didn’t always work for me, I was very impressed by Guy Capo behind the camera.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting some of the darker side of sex

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, although there are a couple minor background noises. The video is done extremely well. The credits state that it’s a film, although I think most of it was shot on video. There are some areas which are very film-like, but I suspect that filters were just used to give the video this effect. There’s very little grain unless it’s put there for effect, and the lighting is low and fits the movie very well. This is a great looking movie.

Music: The music is very nicely done. It has a dark feel that varies slightly throughout the movie to fit the scenes. The balance also changes, and ranges from being a little loud to resting nicely in the background.

Menus: The menus are okay. The main menu blends a still from the cover with a clip from the movie. The chapter menu is very generic and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip from each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

Gothsend explores a bit of the sexuality of the goth lifestyle. Each girl in the movie starts things out talking about what they like about goth, as well as what they like about sex.

Scene 1 - Gia Jordan, Mikayla Cox, and Kris Slater

Purple haired Gia starts things out in some black fetishwear with fishnet stockings, fishnet gloves, and tall black fuck-me boots talking about death and sex. She diddles herself a little before things move over to dark haired and heavily pierced Mikayla, who’s also diddling herself in the graveyard. The girls magically appear next to each other, with Kris Slater showing up before the girls have much of a chance to take on each other. They team up on Kris’ cock orally before Mikayla moves up for a cowgirl ride while Gia rides Kris’ tongue. Gia takes her turn next in reverse cowgirl before letting Mikayla have a little doggie, reverse cowgirl anal, and doggie anal action. The girls kiss and play with each other as they fuck Kris, and make sure they each have plenty of spit as well. Gia makes sure so suck Kris’ cock clean as he reams Mikayla’s ass, and shares a disappointing facial from Kris with Mikayla before they kiss and spit it a little back and forth.

This is a pretty hot scene. I’m not sure how much I like the styles here, but the girls get into things pretty well and Capo does a very nice job of editing it together. I really like how he doesn’t see how quickly the scene can end once Kris pops, and really like how things were stretched out. This is a hot and nicely done scene.

Scene 2 - Angelica Sin, Chloe Dior, and Sascha Kosch

Chloe and Angelica start things out talking about what they think is sexy about goth. They move on with a quick tease and diddle before taking each other on. They tongue each other down under, and don’t shy away from either hole. Sascha magically appears to join them, and Angelica gets right in there to devour his cock orally while Chloe watches. Angelica moves up to ride him reverse cowgirl style before leaning forward so Sascha can fuck her from behind while she and Chloe play with each other lightly. Angelica lets him play with her ass as he fucks her from behind, and then allows him to fuck it missionary style while Chloe watches, diddles herself, and lets Angela have a couple licks. Angelica also lets Sascha spoon her ass before he gives her a nice facial that she takes without batting an eye.

This is an above average scene, and at times struggles to get that far. Angelica and Sascha have great chemistry, and if it was just the two of them this would have been a very good and hot scene. Unfortunately, Chloe seems so out of place here that she held the entire scene back for me. I’m not sure if she even touches Sascha, and once he comes into play it’s like she doesn’t want anything to do with Angelica either. There was some nice potential here, but not much of it was used.

Scene 3 - Little Bit and Master Liam

Little Bit starts out talking about masochism and what she loves about goth styles before she diddles herself. Master Liam finally comes in and warms her up with a few soft slaps before getting out his flogger. He whips Little Bit with it and then attaches a set of weights to her nipple and lip rings. He goes back to flogging her from behind and even works on her a little while with a whip. They change gears next, and Little Bit gets down on her knees to let Master Liam fuck her face. She lays back to let him give her four fingers and then fuck her while keeping a few fingers inside her. Master Liam keeps things moving along by fucking Little Bit’s ass doggie style and then lets her suck him to a facial.

This is a well done scene, although it isn’t quite as hot for me. It has a much darker feel than the other scenes, and comes complete with a “don’t try this at home” warning at the start of the scene. There’s a very heavy feel to this scene right from the start, and it although I can say that it was well done, I can also say that it wasn’t quite for me (or perhaps wasn’t quite for the mood I was in at the time). Little Bit and Master Liam look to be into the action and each other, but I just couldn’t get into the scene that well.

Scene 4 - Melanie, Nikki Hunter, Shay Lamar, and Kris Slater

Bottle blonde Nikki (in a light pink mesh top and wide fishnets), brunette Melanie (in a hot pink mesh top, a black cap, and black boots), and brunette Shay (in a red mesh top and black boots) start things out playing with each other before things quickly move to Kris as the object of their worship. Melanie and Shay start things out teaming up to mouth Kris’ manhood while Nikki kisses her way around the other girls’ boots and Shay’s asshole. He gives Shay the first fuck missionary style before Melanie gets a little reverse cowgirl, anal doggie, and anal missionary action. The other girls work their way around them adding a little oral pleasure and getting a little for themselves as well. Finally the girls team up to share a facial from Kris and swap and spit it around among them.

This is a pretty hot scene. Nikki never gets fucked, but she stays involved to the point that it didn’t bother me like Chloe Dior’s being set apart in her scene earlier. The chemistry flows around very nicely here, and the camera moves around to the point that I always felt like I knew what was going on. It’s a nicely done scene and ends up quite hot.

Scene 5 - Jezebelle Bond and Lisa Marie

Jezebelle, wearing a bright green wig, and Lisa, wearing a bright red wig, start things out kissing their way around a dildo. They fuck each other with a dildo at the same time before fucking themselves. The original dildo comes into play as the girls use it as a double dildo before Lisa goes muff diving without a wetsuit or a mining helmet. Jezebelle returns the favor before they work back and forth and even bring the toys back.

This is a pretty hot scene. The girls seem to be nicely into each other and the scene moves along nicely. It seems a little out of place by not having the interview at the start, but the action was done well enough that I couldn’t care too much. I liked how it jumped around a bit with the toys, but it lacks a little by fading out at the end rather than feeling like it comes to its own conclusion. This is a decent lesbian scene.

Scene 6 - Reina Leone and Joe Friday

Reina diddles herself with her fingers before bringing Joe in so she can show her cocksucking skills. Reina moves on to take Joe through missionary, spooning, and doggie. She also gets in a little reverse cowgirl for her bald beaver before letting Joe splatter his joy juice all over her face.

This scene seems a little out of place. It’s nicely done, but it’s so brightly lit that the makeup seemed to be the only thing separating it from most other porno scenes. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as Reina and Joe do a nice job here. This is only the second time I’ve seen Reina, and I have to say that I’m really impressed with her. She puts some nice energy and vocals into her scenes and didn’t disappoint me from what I was hoping for here. This is a pretty good scene to finish things up with.

I’ll admit that I was a little apprehensive going into Gothsend. I remember hearing that Guy Capo used to be a hockey goalie, and with the subject and look of this release I wondered if he stopped one puck too many with his head. I also wondered if maybe he felt lonely having the only scary personal picture as an avatar on Adult DVD Talk and wanted to be able to put up a few pictures of other scary looking people. Then again, maybe he’s just a wildly pretentious artist with a hard-on that won’t stop. Heck, for that matter, maybe it’s all of the above. Regardless of what it is, I have to admit that he seems to know what he’s doing. Gothsend has a style that’s different from almost everything else I’ve seen in mainstream porn, and I really respect both Guy and DVSX for taking the risk with this kind of movie. It’s definitely not going to be for everybody, but it’s something that I think will have a definite following while also drawing in a few curious people who otherwise wouldn’t look at such a movie. Heck, I’m one of those guys! I don’t have a clue as to the allure of goth, but since I knew of Guy’s reputation as an artistic director I thought this would be a good place to try him out. He does a nice job of keeping the interviews about goth short so that he gives just a little tease of the allure without having people throw things at the TV in frustration of the sex not starting and then keeps the scenes moving nicely. I really liked how he mixed things up sexually as well as the camera work and how he edited it together. I love some of the shots he has setting things up, and have seen very few directors use low light as well as he did here. That said, he did seem a little inconsistent. There were a couple scenes were the makeup seemed to disappear as the scene went on, and the bright location of the final scene also seemed completely out of place after the dark and brooding setups that preceded it. Gothsend definitely won’t be for everybody, but if you’re interested in the goth lifestyle this would seem like a perfect movie to check out.

The Extra Stuff

Cum shot recaps are included from each of the scenes except for the lesbian scene between Jezebelle Bond and Lisa Marie. The photo gallery includes over fifty very nice looking snapshots and full screen photos. There’s also solo scenes, web access, and a behind the scenes featurette.

As usual, solo scenes are included with each of the girls from the movie and they last between about a minute and two and a half minutes. Normally this extra really impresses me, but here it didn’t do much for me. I love that you get more of each girl, but the sequences normally left plenty to be desired. They often felt rushed or were cut off, and the third scene (with Angelica Sin) and sixth scene (with Melanie, Nikki Hunter, and Shay Lamar) had horrible crackly audio that made them very hard for me to watch. The threesome could have been pretty good if not for the audio, but once again felt a little cut off. The only scene which really impressed me much was Reina Leone’s, which was short but actually felt like something. Sadly, this is the weakest selection of solo scenes I’ve watched from DVSX.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts a little over six minutes. It’s a nice behind the scenes featurette. You don’t see much of Guy Capo, but there’s plenty of the cast between takes. You get to see a little of Little Bit and Master Liam working on the S&M portion of the scene as well as the girls talking about some of their scene prep. You get a little of several of the scenes, and it works well. You even get to see Reina Leone jumping on a trampoline, which should be enough to pique anybody’s interest in the featurette. This isn’t a really long featurette, and for its time it works very well.

Currently, many DVSX titles can be found online for between about $13 and $25 with many stores offering them for around $20. If you’re unsure about this one, rent it first. I can see this being a title people will either really dig it or really want to bury it. The technical aspects are very well done, and the extras show some nice effort as well.

Note to DVSX: Thanks for trying something different here! It might not have always worked for me, but it’s great to see somebody wanting to do their own thing rather than trying to do the ame thing everybody else is.
