Golden Age Of Porn: Tina Russell, The Review

Review:
"The Golden Age of Porn: Tina Russell" from Gent's Video is a very good compilation starring none other than the late, brunette, pornographic pioneer, Tina Russell. While Tina's story ultimately had a tragic ending, and she has largely (...and unfairly...) been cast to the shadows of the past, anyone educated in the history of adult films recognizes her prominent, groundbreaking role in the industry. Indeed, she has arguably been called the "original porn star" by those in the know, and the label seems to fit. Her star rose quickly at a time before any others' really had...and she was a true tour de force in the porn world before anyone else. As such, it's with great pleasure that I review this collection of her scenes. While the material presented herein hasn't been taken from too horribly broad of a selection of her work (most of it coming from "Tina Russell Classics"), pretty much all of the action is nevertheless hot...and Tina is generally in top physical form throughout. Her free-love spirit is also on full display, and the various sequences are generally lighthearted, erotic, and sexy. The sound could be better, of course, falling a bit on the muffled side and featuring clear overdubs, and the picture quality is what it is, given the age of the material...so be forewarned on those items. Regardless, seeing this much of Tina Russell in back-to-back-to-back... scenes makes up for any technical shortcomings, and it's easy to recommend this release to those interested in getting better acquainted with a true industry legend's work and also to those who might be waxing nostalgic for a dose of a more innocent...and, some might say, more meaningful...past.

In terms of the sex, the flick kicks off at the end of a fucking, in which the slender blonde, Suzanne McBain, and the beautiful Tina Russell help Jason Russell jerk a load out on both of their faces before the two ladies retreat to the bathroom for more fun without him. They share a good douching in the tub and then a cut finds them in bed together for fingers and dildos (Scene One). In Scene Two, Harry Reams is wanking it to Tina's actual autobiography, "Porno Star", when she saunters into the room and lends him a helping hand... and mouth... and pussy. Early on in the action, a second woman--a strawberry blonde who's onscreen name is "Leena"--joins them. They get right down to it in the sexy fucking that follows (girl-girl, oral--both ladies, vaginal--both ladies ; "Leena" jerks off Reams onto Tina's face). Scene Three finds Tina proving to an insurance claims rep that her injury is "legit"...by sucking--and attempting to fuck--his tiny dick in his office. When he isn't up to the challenge, Tina masturbates on the sofa a bit and quickly grabs onto another rep, Eric Edwards, who happens to make his way into the room. Fortunately, he's up to the task, and the two fuck it out as the wimpy dude beats off (oral, vaginal ; double-facial). In Scene Four, which is intercut with the next, Tina gets it on with Jason Russell, a producer, whilst "Leena" works on Harry Reams on the nearby sofa (oral--both ladies, vaginal--both ladies ; load on "Leena"'s tummy and bush, and the same for Tina). Scene Five pairs up Tina and an Hispanic woman whose onscreen name is "Regina" for a fingers-and-tongues lesbo affair on an olive-green bed. In Scene Six, Tina gets a "special massage" from a doctor and his nurse, Dolly Sharp. Of course, things quickly devolve into a threeway involving both girl-on-girl and boy-girl action (oral--Tina, vaginal--Dolly ; cum-shot out of cowgirl with Dolly). Sandwiching the last sequence is a brief bit of broken-up, toy-based lesbian sex between Tina and a frazzly-haired woman upon a bed (not much to it ; "Scene Seven"). In Scene Eight, Tina seduces Jeffrey Hurst, who's working on a plaster cast of her pussy in his shop, by pulling his dick out of his pants and plunking it in her mouth. An impassioned, oral and vaginal romp ensues (she sucks and jerks him to a facial). Scene Nine has a short-haired Tina discovering true "love" (...lust?...) with a quirky foreigner who happens upon her on the toilet in an unlocked bathroom. After some cheesy-fun dialogue, they fuck it out right there, with the dude ultimately pulling out of her in cowgirl, blowing a load and then reinserting while still cummy. In Scene Ten, Tina's slender, straight-tressed blonde cuz ("Cousing Nelly") helps her out of the shower and onto her waterbed. This one is soft and sensual, with a bit of light fingering and pussy-eating by "Nelly" on Tina. Hot stuff all-around!
