Initial Expectations: Will Ryder has a great record of porn parodies behind him. I'm expecting this one to be much lighter, but no less enjoyable.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects show plenty of care. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice anything to interfere with it. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks great. The picture is clear with smooth camera handling and good lighting.

Music: Will Ryder always puts plenty of care into the music for his parodies, and this one is no different. It's fun and fits the movie extremely well.

Watermark Warning: A small watermark is in the lower right corner throughout the movie and extras. I mention it here because I know some people have an extreme aversion to watermarks, but I will also say that it's extremely easy to filter out mentally due to how small it is and it's fixed location. If companies feel they have to do a watermark to protect themselves, they could take a lesson from how New Sensations and their sister companies do it.

Menus: The main menu blends a couple stills with a little animation for a decent first impression. The chapter menu shows some very nice care and nicely mixes up titles for the non-sex portions with the names of the performers for the sex scenes.

The Feature

Will Ryder is back with another porn parody. This time he takes aim at the 1960s cartoon The Flintstones with Peter O'Tool as Fred, Anthony Rosano as Barney, Hillary Scott as Wilma, and Brooke Lee Adams as Betty, along with plenty more.

The Flintstones: A XXX Parody is a fun little fuck flick. I've heard some complain about how they thought it was too light and fluffy, but seriously, this is a porno based on a 1960s cartoon, not War and Peace. That isn't to say that Will Ryder takes the “fuck it, it's just porn” approach, as he doesn't. What it is, is an adult send-up that feels like it's true to the source material, which makes Ryder a perfect choice as a director with how well he's brought other blasts from the past screaming into the wonderful world of porno. The cast does a very nice job portraying the characters and there's plenty of care and effort put into the production values to make it feel as fun and cheesy as it seems like it should. Sexually the movie also works well. Brooke Lee Adams steals the show sexually in each of her scenes, and surprisingly Hillary Scott comes off as the weak spot and seems to phone in a bit of her performance. The only thing that's really missing here is Dino, which I guess can be understood with budget costs and trying to do him right. The Flintstones: A XXX Parody is a very enjoyable porn parody that's every bit as good as I hoped.

The Extra Stuff

A second DVD is devoted entirely to the extras. Trailers are included for seventeen different parody releases. The photo gallery lasts about five and a quarter minutes with about six seconds per still. There's also behind the scenes featurettes, a bonus scene, the R-Rated “Party version of the movie (lasting just over a half hour), and cumshot recaps.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about fifty two minutes. After a few shots of the cast and crew messing around on the set and shooting the movie, Will introduces the movie and some of the cast. Dale has a few words having fun with the movie and his character as well as talking about his scene. Hillary is next, who talks about the original and the parody as well as her hobbies, sex, and her refrigerator. After a quick moment with Will, Brooke shows off her goods and talks about the movie, food, and throwing a party while looking amazingly together and like an all around cool person. There's a little fun with Anthony in the makeup chair and the interview chair with a little as himself and more as Barney. Hayden talks about being new to the industry, colors, music, and not liking scary movies in addition to showing off her all natural titties and coming off young, shy, and girly through it all. She also has a little fun with Will on the set and shows off before Will shows off the kitchen. Dale returns to chat about his role and shares a couple jokes before Hillary and Will share a moment on the set. Seth has a few words as well before returning to Will as he talks about green screen work and shoots a bit. Will talks about Misty before she and Rod talk with the camera and Misty shows off a bit. Rod talks about being boring and getting shot and Misty talks about all the work she's doing. Will gives a little set update before Peter plays around between being himself and Fred after finishing shooting the movie. Finally there's a few words with Will as well as plenty of shots around the set. This is a good behind the scenes featurette. You get plenty of personality from the stars as well as the great leadership of Will Ryder guiding it. Once again the only down spot in the featurette is Hillary, who seems like she doesn't really want to be there. This is a very nice addition to the overall DVD.

The blooper reel lasts just under five minutes. You get plenty of flubbed lines and a little fun, with it all staying pretty clean. There's no sexual bloopers, and the closest you get is a tit popping out while shooting. This is a nice little featurette that adds a little extra to the DVD.

The bonus scene comes from Fresh Outta High School 19. The movie is fun and hot, and the DVD shows a lot of care with nice attention paid to both the extras and the technical aspects. If you're at all tempted by this one, pick it up.
