What is the Masterpiece Collection?
I suppose it is my personal pornography Hall of Fame. It is only for those select films that I consider to be at the very pinnacle of the industry. This is an honor reserved only for films that I believe will stand the test of time.

Overall Impression
This is the first title I have had the pleasure of viewing from Ninn Worx, a new studio formed by Michael Ninn and former Private North America head Richard Arnold. After watching this directorial debut by Ninn protégé Laurent Sky I am eagerly awaiting his next Ninn Worx DVD. This film is easily the most visually striking piece of porn I have seen all year. To be fair director Laurent Sky's style is his own, but for the purpose of description I would say this is the kind of film I might expect to see if you combined the styles of Michael Ninn and Tanya Hyde.

The look of this film blew me away, even the opening credits alone are a visual feast for the eyes. Laurent's camera probes every womanly curve and captures some intensely expressive looks into the lens.The sets create a techno industrial backdrop that feel futuristic and clean. The lighting is superb as well as the picture clarity. The outfits and makeup on this already outstanding cast of women truly enhances the feel of the film.

Surprisingly I really enjoyed the music, and found it really enhanced the sex at times. The great thing though was that it did not completely overpower the sounds of the performers.

However I should warn you this film will not appeal to everyone. There is some weird stuff like weird monical wearing man, and aliens in jars. There is no real S&M or bondage, but there is a great deal of fetish imagery in the same vein as some of Tanya Hyde's work and Kovi's work for Private's fetish line "Pirate". Besides the look and feel of the sets and costumes it is still rather mainstream as far as the sex is concerned.

Perhaps the most brilliant contribution this DVD set makes is the ingenious idea of creating two different edits. The first disc contains what Ninn and Sky like to call the "artcore" version, the version in which the director allows himself to indulge his own artistry. This is the version that many Ninn detractors might call the "artsy fartsy, bullshit" version. Alas they have made a brave attempt here on the second disc to please everyone buy including a "hardcore version". This version is edited and put together as a much simpler, straightforward version with no sound track to overpower the sounds of sex. Ideally satisfying those that find the intended artistry of the "artcore version" merely a distraction from the sexual heat.

The dual versions are an ingenius idea, but ultimately Sky fails to deliver. The second disc is much more like raw footage than a new "hardcore" edit. Sure there are no quick edits, slow motion shots or strange music, instead there is poor pacing, and a seemingly constant amount of verbal direction from Sky that is way more distracting than any of his visual techniques from disc 1. It is a real missed oppurtunity because I really think they are on to something with the idea of multiple edits aimed at pleasing a wider audience. However I must say I totally appluade the attempt.

Plot
There really is no plot, essentially we just have five vignettes connected only by their similar fetish style

Scene 1 Nicole Sheridan
WOW! This is by far the best I have ever seen Nicole Sheridan look on film. Her outfit is fantastic and her makeup is great. Her rich red lipstick emphasizing that wonderful scowl she gives during this intense performance.(if your a Nicole fan you know what I'm talking about when I say scowl)

When this scene opens we find her teasing us while sitting on the classic Herman Miller office chair, only it has been transformed into some kind of crazy industrial techno inspired contraption of a chair. Nicole starts playing with herself, eventually her fingers aren't enough so she starts masturbating with a clear glass dildo that is attached to a ling thin black handle. This is a great solo masturbation scene, the kind that often stands alone in many films, but it is just a prelude to the serious action here.

Next we see her man Voodoo in some strange headgear and fetish wear. After some interesting kissing, Nicole gets to work delivering serious BJ, complete with some teeth play. After some reciprocal oral, Voodoo starts pounding away. There is some real heat here, as Sheridan completely wins me over with her intensity. The scene finishes off strong with her receiving anal in the piledriver position, before a great facial shot. I love the way she plays with his spunk after as she lets it drip onto her nipple.

My only complaint is the slightly distracting presence of some monical wearing, cigarette smoking, European looking general who is seen as a spectator from time to time throughout the scene.

Scene 2 Mia Smiles
Mia looks stunning is some super sexy clothes as she teases while playing with herself before her stud arrives. Sky finds a nice viewpoint for us as we watch Mia supply a very nice and very wet blowjob. They move on to some standing doggie for a while, where we find Smiles gets more vocal as she encourages him. After a few more position changes (no anal) it ends with him popping on her chest. Another great looking high energy scene.

Scene 3 Michele Michaels
I wan not really familiar with Michele Michaels before I watched this scene, but I can safely say I want to see more of her now. She simply sparkling in this super intense 1on1 scene with the hard pounding Erik Everhard.

We begin with some excellent tease footage where. Michele flashes some incredible looks as she plays to the camera. Eventually she seems to drive herself absolutely wild as she masturbates with some unusual metal contraption. This is some hot stuff! After some short lived weird alien stuff Everhard enters the scene. These two make an electric combination as Michaels wails on him vocally while Erik does his best impersonation of a jackhammer. Surprisingly there is no anal but the scene works without it. The scene ends with one of the more original pop shots I have seen. Erik drips the contents of his condom on to the side of her mouth and drags the rubber across her face.

Scene 4 Bunny Luv & Ava Vincent

Bunny Luv looks amazing and still has a perfect natural rack. We see her getting herself off with that glass dildo for a while, until Ava appears. Ava has looked better, but still looks good, it helps that she is also wearing one seriously sexy get-up. Some great stuff in this scene not only do these two drive me wild visually, but the scene has a certain amount of edge to it. What results is one of the best girl/girl scenes I've seen in a long while.

Scene 5 Aurora Snow
This is the films only 2on1, and Snow shows us that she knows what she is doing here. Sky really does have all of these ladies looking their best as Snow is a total knockout. This is a very solid scene as Aurora provides some professional attention to both studs with plenty of oral, lots of total knockout and plenty of DP action.

Extras (Disc 2)
"Hardcore" edit - although this feel short of my high hopes, it is still an incredible extra, sure I like the "Artcore" version much more, but this version is interesting even if only as a staggering amount raw footage
Music - you can listen to all the tracks on their own

Final Thoughts
I really struggeled with the desicion to grant this film entry into the Masterpiece Collection, but after revisiting it after some time and considering the wealth of material on the two discs I became much more confident in my decision. So overall it is a superb first effort from director Laurent Sky and an extremely promising start for Ninn Worx studio. Also the idea of releasing alternate cuts is something more directors should consider.
