Farmer's Daughters is a adventure from Zebedy Colt, the auteur behind The Devil Inside Her and Unwilling Lovers, that aims to find a way to disturb everyone who watches it. In Farmer's Daughters, country farmer Shep (Zebedy Colt) and his wife Kate (Gloria Leonard), have three daughters Martha (Susan McBain), Jane (Nancy Dare), and Beth (Marlene Willoughby). Martha, Jane, and Beth are all twisted sociopaths who like to watch their parents have sex and get off raping the farm hand Fred Turner (Bill Cort). One day their life gets turned upside down when three escaped convicts George (Spalding Gray), Butch (John Black), and Pat (Philip Marlowe) find the farm and take the family hostage.

Farmer's Daughters starts off with a dirty ditty, likely sung by Colt who had a singing career prior to becoming an adult film director, which is far more playful than anything that follows in this roughie. But then, in standard Colt fashion, things get dark fast. First Colt goes into the more playful incest theme before delving into the even darker themes of rape, humiliation, and golden showers. Farmer's Daughters is not a friendly film to say the least.

No character in the film comes across as overly likable. Every single one of them manages to show their darker sides, some far more than others, which in a way benefits the film since the viewer isn't attached to any character. The sex, well not much of it is consensual and most of it is mean spirited so unless you are into forced scenes, the eroticism value isn't high. However, Colt has nicely shot the film giving it a good look as well as selecting a good location for shooting. The cast does a good job with their roles as well.

Not all about Farmer's Daughters is good though. As previously mentioned, the sex scenes are rather brutal for the most part and not erotic. The end of the film is filled with an odd montage that seems stuck in to pad the run time verses actually serve a real purpose and screws up the end of the film. The special effects work, the rifle shots, are poorly done. Colt has also put some odd dubbing into the film. For instance, when there is a multiple blow job scene, the dubbing for the scene sounds like a cow chewing cud.

Farmer's Daughters is a hard film to recommend or dismiss. It doesn't have much of a story to it but it managed to hold my attention throughout. Colt gives you sex scenes like you aren't going to see anywhere else but most of them aren't erotic at all. The film is nicely shot but some odd choices, like the montage finale, detract from the film. As to whether this film is for you, only you can tell.

Impulse Pictures has done a good job with their release of Farmer's Daughters. Farmer's Daughters is presented in the academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1 in 480p. The print used for this release of Farmer's Daughters is a bit beat up. The print is generally good but has some rougher spots. The print contains print damage, artifacts, and grain. The print generally sports good color representation but there are points when blacks are represented redder than they should be and some moments when the color goes off. The print is definitely watchable.

Farmer's Daughters is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 monaural audio track. The audio is in good shape with no real noticeable blemishes and the dialog is clear and can be heard at all times.

Impulse Pictures hasn't included any extras on this release.

Farmer's Daughters is an adult film that does what Zebedy Colt did best. It pushes boundaries and tries to put as many twisted and demented scenes together as possible in its short run time. Farmer's Daughters won't be for all viewers and is especially not for ones that like tame films. Impulse Pictures has done a decent job with this release. The print is a bit beat up but the film is watchable.
