I first saw this on VHS just after it was released, and I have fond memories of Sasha’s moments. Back then, almost three years ago now, I wasn’t as familiar with Clark’s body of work, and couldn’t put this in its proper context. Now I understand that the Hardball line was created to show more fetish trappings and give a hint of a plot to the basic Euro Angels scenarios of Czech and Hungarian beauties getting their asses plundered.

The DVD itself was a literal eye-opener, as it begins with some of the most garish, obnoxious menus I have ever seen. They will certainly wake you up, but left me with a renewed appreciation of how good the usual Evil Angel menus are. I have been assured that the mastering company that provided these loud menus were only used on a one time basis, which is a relief.

Another thing that I realize now is that the house shown as the movie opens, in which we witness Clark beginning his day, is still used extensively in countless Budapest-based productions. Clark himself is in one of his more handsome modes. Compared to his recent output, he seems to have had his hair cut by a professional, and he has roughly 20 pounds less gut to suck in. So those who dislike watching him perform in front of the camera will have less to complain about here.

Between showing Clark, there are glimpses of Ivana in fetish gear. She’s not too pretty, with pale skin and brown hair, but has enormous breasts, which is the reason she’s on camera. She plays with herself, including using some toys.

At Budapest’s airport, borderline-troll Hatman arrives in the company of the lovely Cassandra Wild (see her on the cover if you aren’t already familiar with her). She’s a long-limbed Hungarian blonde with beautiful facial features, and nice curves for a woman of her height. She has a great sexuality to match her looks, which is why she was in a lot of Private and Clark/Rocco movies during her brief heyday of 1998-1999. I always found the barbed wire tattooing on her upper left arm a bit off-putting, and she was never a favorite of mine, but there’s no doubting she was A-level talent (her movies are still easy to find, one of those I liked best was Animal Trainer 4, in which she has a scene with Nikki Anderson).

Hatman understands perfectly well that he’s with a woman better than he deserves, so he treats her deferentially as they ride around Budapest in a cab. He is supposed to be an American magazine publisher, and Cassandra is the leading candidate to become his European entertainment reporter. As they walk around downtown, they conveniently bump into famous European porn director/actor Christoph Clark. Hatman explains that he is a big fan, Cassandra feigns ignorance (they both did/do a lot of work with him, so this is a bit silly to watch), and Clark eventually agrees to allow Hatman to interview him over some drinks. During the interview, Clark is asked to recall his best moment in the business.

In a flashback, Ivana holds a whip as she acts as dominatrix over Clark and the always watchable Nikki Anderson, who wears the most darling little red socks, instead of the stockings she wore in most Clark movies. Nikki could be a bit of an ice queen sometimes, but I think that usually reflected that she was uncomfortable with the men with whom she was asked to perform. Clark was always able to bring out the sex kitten in Nikki, even as far back as Buttman in Budapest, and does so again here. For this movie, she has her usual blonde dye job, and had not yet started to add the poundage she showed later in 1999 (for example, in her American movies Seymore Butts’ Tight Squeeze and Beach Bunnies With Big Brown Eyes 6, both of which do have the positive quality that she warmed up to working with Tyce Bune’).

Nikki spends the scene in a blindfold, as Ivana orders Clark to dildo Nikki’s asshole. After a bit, Nikki squats over a dildo attached to a chair, and for a few divine moments reverse cowgirl anals herself. All through the scene, Clark will momentarily rush back to Ivana to nuzzle her rack and announce that he is her slave, otherwise she doesn’t do more than play with herself unerotically. Meanwhile, Clark puts on his famous black glove to aggresively finger Nikki’s ass, before sticking in a buttplug. At Ivana’s order, Nikki fellates Clark a bit, and then finds herself down on her knees to take his cock in anal doggy. She also takes a clear speculum, and then more cock in reverse cowgirl and spoon. After working a big vibrator into her ass in a few positions, Clark grabs her feet and strokes himself to ejaculation with them. Ivana then jerks a second load out of him, and he announces his devotion to her. She added nothing to what was otherwise a fun scene.

With the end of the story, Hatman talks Clark into joining he and Cassandra later for dinner and further toy stories at their hotel. This hotel looks suspiciously like one of the hilltop houses Rocco used constantly at this time. Outside, Hatman peeps on Cassandra as she primps in a mirror and then uses the bidet. She strips, and Clark as director lovingly captures every inch of her body. Hatman can’t resist any more, and walks in on her. This startles Cassandra, who at first fears he might rape her. When she realizes he wants consentual booty, she warms up, and agrees to “just oral sex.” Hatman is no dummy, he saw her use the bidet, so he knows everything is squeaky clean down under. He’s an ugly mofo, but he always knows how to push a lady’s buttons. So he eats her out eagerly, which excites her enough to allow him some mish intercourse on the edge of a bathtub. She looks as good as ever with her legs up in the air, and he pumps away happily until coming inside her. I’ve never seen Hatman to have any dick control difficulty, so there’s no reason to think the internal (unshown) cumshot was any sort of gimmick.

He then falls asleep atop Cassandra, and she has a carnal daydream about being a whore in fetish gear. Amidst some mirror-image special effects, Remigo anally dildos her in another room of the house. A brief buttfuck leads to her mask coming off, so he can cum on her face.

At dinner, Clark tells another story, this time about his secretary, played by Czech Daniella Rush (who looks even better than usual). She’s another actress who needs the right actor and/or director to bring out her best (she sometimes phones it in if she knows the movie is a piece of junk). Clark is the right man for the job, as he orders her to delay joining her boyfriend at a party. He can’t resist her in her outfit of a tiny fishnet evening dress than leaves nothing to the imagination. Since she isn’t wearing any underwear, he has easy access to her asshole, which he stuffs with his fingers, and then a large dildo. She can take a fist up there (see Joker : Die Spermaklinik), so this is no big deal. After plenty more anal play, she’s finally allowed to depart. She seems interested the whole time, which led me to conclude that normal scenes (a bit of oral, a bit of vag, anal, then the cumshot) probably bore her. His story over, Clark invites Hatman and Cassandra to visit a porn set the next day.

As they drive to the location in a factory, Cassandra surprises Hatman by showing that she has on very little under her coat. She might have more than journalism in mind! On the set, Alberto Rey is playing the director, while Christian (Steve Holmes), David “Ubiquitous” Perry, and Richard “the Sneer” Lengin chat up the day’s actress, the very pretty, pale skinned Sasha. She’s a redhead (with Cassandra on the cover) who also appeared in Euro Angels 16, and she explains to the boys that she is Slovakian and loves sex. They attempt to determine the truth of this by poking and prodding her, and letting her suck on their pee-pees. She wasn’t lying! Hatman and Cassandra watch closely, and take photos. As Sasha rides a dildo anally, Hatman begins to eat out Cassandra, who was getting turned on by the events. She then dons the black glove to finger Sasha’s ass. Hatman is nice enough to not have any more sex in this scene. Instead, he kisses Sasha a bit as she’s on her knees, getting team buttfucked. He calms her as the action gets intense, and this was the moment that had been burned onto my memory from the VHS. She looks just wonderful here, and Cassandra is in fine form too, as both women end up getting simultaneously DPed, after Alberto joins the action. Finally, all the guys except Hatman take turns fucking Cassandra’s ass in mish, before shooting their load onto her pussy. Sasha is then nice enough to lap up the cum.

Next, Clark is working out in a gym, a place where he needs to spend more time these days. Hatman shows up to conclude their interview, and Clark shows him a photo of secretary Daniella, explaining she had allowed a girlfriend to get an entire fist up her ass. We cut to a scene of blindfolded Daniella on a fetish machine Ivana briefly used earlier, with dusky Eva and Clark playing with her parts. Eva is a pretty, slender young woman with dark skin and hair, who appeared in many movies about this time, especially for Clark. One of her better, least known scenes is with Claudia Jamson in Woodman’s XXX 1. Here she is merely an accessory, present to lend a hand, so to speak. We watch her get four fingers up Daniella’s backside, but that elusive thumb remains on the outside. Perhaps the whole hand is shown in the European version. Clark then buttfucks her in a couple of positions, before Eva strokes a load out of him and into Daniella’s mouth.

Hatman agrees to visit Clark again, and to bring Cassandra along, and both did in fact work with him plenty more in future movies. Thus concludes what might be considered a “mid-period” Clark movie. His earlier work for Private and Marc Dorcel tried to cram as many scenes as possible into roughly 90 minutes, and even after joining the Evil Empire, he still had too many short scenes per 140 minute movie for my taste. By the time this was shot, a dozen or more titles into his Euro Angels/Hardball career, he had switched to longer scenes, going more for quality than quantity. He was still in his “toy story” phase, with the emphasis more on ass stuffing than on raw hot sex, but that gradually changed, so that by 2001 he emphasized the sexual interaction between 2-4 people, with many scenes not having any anal.

The DVD has the usual Evil Angel fetish menu, and a fairly good photo gallery, but no filmography or extra scenes. Fortunately, the sex, combined with a long running time, is enough to stand on its own. But make no mistake, this is an anal movie. If you are not in the mood to see beautiful female asses get repeatedly pillaged, then there is little else for you here. But if you are in the mood for mucho anal, it is hard to imagine a better choice.
