The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very well done. The audio is very clear and well balanced, without a single thing to interfere with it. The video is also well done. It’s shot on film, so there is some grain, but there’s also some nice depth. The movie is lit extremely well and the camera moves around quite nicely. Best of all, Wicked actually cared enough about this one to give it the anamorphic widescreen transfer it deserves. This is a great looking and sounding movie.

Music: The music is very nicely done. It’s well balanced with the rest of the audio and varies in style throughout the movie while also keeping much of the classical feel of the movie.

Menus: The main menu is very well done. It gives some nice animation with a classic feel that made a very good first impression right away. Unfortunately, the chapter menu doesn’t show the same care, and just lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene with a chapter number rather than giving something meaningful like the name of the stars in the scene.

The Feature

On her wedding day, Stormy Daniels is given a locket by her mother, Veronica Hart, that’s been in their family for generations. Veronica tells Stormy the story of their family that goes with it, how her great-great-grandmother’s hand was given in marriage to a wealthy man after her father had died and left them deeply in debt and about to be thrown into the street. She quickly learns that her husband, Randy Spears, is a very cruel man who cares about nothing but himself. Rather than fall into the self centered culture Randy is in, she remembers where she came from and looks for a way to take him down.

Scene 1 - Stormy Daniels and Kris Knight

Stormy shares one last night with her lover Kris before being given to Randy. Kris frees Stormy’s mammoth melons from her top for a little kissing before making his way under her peasant skirt. Scene 3 - jessica drake and Chris Cannon

Scene 8 - Stormy Daniels and Eric Masterson

Finally, Stormy falls prey to the charm of Eric. The only problem with the sex here is that it doesn’t quite fit with the story as somehow a pop on Stormy’s bush turns into a baby. Despite this, Stormy and Eric end the sex in Eternity on a nicely high note.

Eternity is a very impressive adult movie. Sexually, it’s a little above average. There’s good chemistry to the scenes and they’re nicely captured, but the sex scenes also suffer a bit from being fairly short and rarely having position changes. The thing that makes it great is the story and acting. The story develops very well, and although there are a few plot holes they are few and far between. Heck, for an adult movie they’re practically nonexistent. The story is very ambitious, and the sex scenes normally fit into it quite well.

The movie is really helped by two other very important non-sex things. First is Armstrong’s art direction. He’s really in top form here, from the costumes to the locations to the little details. The second thing is the cast, and two people in particular. Stormy does a very nice job as the female lead, and plays her role with nice heart. Armstrong’s artistic eye makes her all the stronger, with Stormy looking great from being a mere peasant up to a woman of society. Even more important, however, is Randy Spears. Randy has always been a top notch actor, but I don’t think he’s ever been as good as he is here. He comes off as arrogant and ruthless throughout the entire movie, and even when his character tries to be nice he keeps a whisper of it there. I don’t know how many times throughout the movie I was amazed with his performance, and it doesn’t stop with the acting. He also shows some decent skill at fencing several times through the movie as well as turning out some nice sex scenes. Brad and Randy don’t seem to hold anything back in Eternity, and get some very nice help from Stormy Daniels.

Although the sex comes off a bit weak compared to the rest of the movie, I can’t help but recommend Eternity to anybody who’s a fan of adult features. It shows more care than I even see in a lot of mainstream work and has almost all the things that make an epic great. Heck, it might even have more than what it normally takes to make an epic great since although the sex isn’t quite up to the level of the rest of the movie, it’s definitely above average. Eternity is a very ambitious adult feature, and one that is definitely worth checking out.

The Extra Stuff

The only extras on the first disc are audio options. In addition to being able to choose between mixed audio, music only, and dialogue only, Stormy Daniels and Brad Armstrong team up for a commentary. The commentary is very average, and has a lot of dead air to it. Although Stormy and Brad do talk nicely about some of the locations, performers, and the making of the movie, I couldn’t help but think that it really needed two things. The first would be Randy Spears, as he is so important to this overall movie and I think he would have added plenty to the overall commentary. The second is a few beers for Stormy, as I don’t think Wicked has ever had as good a commentary as there was when a few adult beverages were involved with the Space Nuts. As is, it’s an average at best commentary that’s fairly easily forgotten.

The second DVD is devoted entirely to extras. In addition to a trailer for Eternity, trailers are included for Secrets of the Velvet Ring, Perfect Life, Erotik, Intrigue, Caliente, Wicked Sex Party 7, Road Trixxx, Space Nuts, Fluff and Fold, and One Night in Vegas. Star stats are included for Stormy Daniels, jessica drake, Keri Sable, Michelle Lay, and Shay Sights, each of which gives a little personal information, a few hotos, and a bit of a Wicked filmography. There’s also several photo galleries, behind the scenes featurettes and interviews, a bonus scene, and some of the usual Wicked extras.

Several photo galleries are included from throughout the production. The main gallery lasts six and a quarter minutes, while the behind the scenes gallery lasts about two and three quarter minutes with about seven seconds per very nice looking snapshot or full screen ratio photo. A photo gallery is included for each scene. After choosing a scene based on a list of the performers in the scene, you’re taken to a gallery that lasts between a little over a minute and a half and about two and a quarter minutes. There’s also star galleries for the entire female cast lasting around two minutes each. It’s a very nice group of photo galleries.

All Access: The Making of Eternity lasts forty minutes and is presented in the full screen ratio. Brad starts things out introducing the location, characters, and the plan for what’s coming up for that day before heading out to the costume trailer to show how organized he is. Mark Stone moves in to chat with Keri about whether it’s better for her to do anal before or after her acting sequences before she poses for a few stills and gets it on with Randy for the scene. Brad sets up some of the next scene talking about trying to balance a scene where something’s supposed to be wrong between the characters with always wanting a hot scene before letting Randy and Stormy get it on. jessica is next, who talks about why Chris Cannon is one of her favorite guys to work with before posing for a few stills and getting it on with the aforementioned Chris. Randy gets a few words in between shooting all his sex scenes, and talks about being able to concentrate on his character and acting for the rest of the shoot. Stormy is next, who gets in a few words between shooting scenes with jessica, Kris Knight, and Eric Masterson. Eva Angelina has a few words before her scene, with Stormy and some of the others coming back for a few words afterwards. Finally, they wrap up a bit more of the story sequences. It’s a pretty good behind the scenes featurette. It came off a bit heavy on the shooting of the actual scenes, which rarely interests me, while leaving out plenty of the interviews with the stars by Mark Stone which always seem to go so well. There was also some talk about the women being quick witted, but one rarely saw any evidence here. This is a pretty good behind the scenes featurette, but doesn’t really give anything overly special.

Making the Cut - Fencing with Randy Spears lasts about four minutes. There’s a nice talk about the “Mystical Triangle” for swordfighting and martial arts before Randy comes in for fencing training. For some reason I didn’t have much for expectations for this featurette, but I ended up really enjoying it. It’s interesting and does a nice job of showing some of Randy’s preparation.

Brad Armstrong gives an interview lasting just under eight minutes. Brad talks about writing the script and doing a period piece without doing a sequel to Conquest. He talks about the different periods and ideas with the different contract girls before landing on Eternity with Stormy and jessica. He gives Randy Spears plenty of credit while retaining quite a bit for himself. Brad talks a fair amount about some of the difficulties with the movie, both for the performers and technically. He comes off a bit egotistical at times, but it is a nicely done interview with Brad covering quite a bit of ground.

Bonus Scene - Stormy Daniels and Pat Myne

The bonus scene comes from The Portrait. Stormy and Pat start things out with a passionate kiss outdoors before Pat lets his mouth move down to worship Stormy’s big fat titties and the rest of her goddess-like body. Stormy rewards his oral affections with a little knob gobbling, and puts her great eyes to work as well as she sucks him. This is a very nice scene. I don’t know if Stormy and Pat were an off-screen couple as well at the time this scene was shot, but it has all the chemistry one would hope for with a real life couple. I love how the foreplay is spread out so they can worship each other, and if anything the fucking seems a bit anticlimactic here. Stormy puts out some nice energy and vocals when it gets to the fucking, but the scene never goes over the top in any way as Stormy and Pat work each other over. She also does a very nice job taking the facial at the end of the scene, with Pat delivering a good load. The only thing that seems to be missing is the usual Wicked problem of not really showing any position changes. This is a very nice scene with plenty of chemistry and passion.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Wicked’s DVDs can be found online for between $18 and $25, with stores offering them everywhere in between. This one’s well worth the money if you’re a feature fan. The sex has some of the usual Wicked limitations, but the overall movie is nothing short of amazing. The technical aspects are very well done, and there’s some nice effort put into the extras. This is a very nicely done double DVD set.

Note to Wicked Pictures: You should be very proud of the job you did here. It’s also very nice to see you giving your movies the anamorphic transfer they deserve.
