Damon and Hunter: Doing it Together Review

Damon DeMarco and Hunter James are two handsome young men in love. And nothing quite captures this as both warmly and effectively as Tony Comstock’s Damon & Hunter: Doing It Together, produced and directed by Tony Comstock or Comstock Films, with additional camera work by Peggy Comstock.
The picture highlights an interview with Damon and Hunter, discussing how they met, letting us into their lives and giving us a opportunity to learn a little about their journey together as a couple, both as friends and as sexual partners, with brief teasing scenes of the two men having sex intermittently between conversations. Once the interview is over, it segues naturally and quite flawlessly into the entirely of the sex act, a sex act between two gentlemen that we got to know and like and connect with during the first half of the film as we are given the voyeuristic opportunity to peak into their private affair with sex that lacks the showboating spectacle of gonzo, reminding us that real sex between real people is more about sensation, and real sex between two loving, caring individuals is equally about connection as well.

With the use three cameras; a stationary set on a tripod with Tony and Peggy rotating around the couple to capture multiple angles for effective, enhancing edits, we’re privy to all the quirks and particulars that Damon and Hunter enjoy in their everyday sex lives, and I find it both sweet and intensely arousing that they both almost start out a little hesitantly, as if perhaps a little nervous, and then gradually melt with a happy sigh into each other’s familiar embrace, to where we can detect even little nuances, little hints and signs of their very genuine enjoyment of being on camera and exposing themselves to us. One of my favorites moments occurs during a scene where you can see one of the men’s feet and toes curl in ecstasy around his own lover’s feet, tucked behind him as his ministrations drive his partner over the brink. There is just something so beautifully familiar about the gesture. So intimate. Oddly comforting. And deeply, deeply stimulating.

Good lighting, just the right amount of illumination while maintaining a dimly lit intimate setting at the same time. Wonderfully directed, and for the full multi-angle experience check out the intriguing audio commentary which also offers a feature to let the viewer select one of three camera angles to screen at a time if they so chose.

Damon And Hunter: Doing It Together is a great little film about two boys that love to, well, do it together. A fact that is immediately evident throughout the picture. And I loved being there to see it all go down.
