Synopsis:
The third release from Comstock films is a look into the lives and sex life of gay couple Damon DeMarco and Hunter James.

Audio/Video:
The film is presented with an English 2.0 Stereo track, which is all that is necessary for the feature film. Sound representation is great and the interview portions are easy to hear as is the sex scene itself. Comstock Films hasn't included any foreign language or subtitle options for the feature film.

The film is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1. The color representation presented here is beautiful, which is important considering how the film was shot and put together. The print itself is flawless with no blemishes or artifacts present making for a great viewing experience.

Special Features:
There are two extras contained on the disc. The first one, and by far the best of them, is the 40 minute “The Making of a Love Scene.” This shows the sex scene, in multiple angle, with the main video camera, Tony Comstock's film camera and Peggy Comstock's camera with an audio commentary from Tony and Peggy. This feature provides a fascinating look into how the film was made, the filming style utilized and the differences between filming with video and actual film. There are also previews on the disc for Marie and Jack: A Hardcore Love Story, Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract, the as-of-yet unreleased Ashley and Kisha: The Right Fit, and the as-of-yet unreleased Matt and Khym: Better than Ever.

Disc Design/Navigation:
The disc is designed with simple non-animated menus that are easy to navigate and look good. Although there is no chapter menu, there are 29 chapter stops within the feature film itself. There is a time code encoded on the disc for the feature film.

General Review:
To be honest I thought writing this review was going to be easier than it was but I found that writing a review for gay porn is harder than one would think when they are a straight male. Much of what I talk about in a review didn't end up applying here. Why then did I bother to write this review? Quite simply, because I enjoyed the film, not on a sexual level but on another level and although I may not be able to help readers decide whether they will find this film to be erotic for them, I can help readers get an understanding for the film.

I picked Damon and Hunter: Doing it Together up back when Tony had his Hurricane Katrina benefit and this was the only Comstock film that I didn't already own or have on pre-order. I've enjoyed both of his prior offerings, Marie and Jack: A Hardcore Love Story and Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract, and I was curious to see what he was going to do with a gay film. What follows is the answer to that curiosity.

A good adult film can work on more than just one level and that is just the case of Damon and Hunter. While the erotic side may not have worked for me, I found the documentary side still had a lot to offer. As anyone who has seen one of Tony's films before can attest, they aren't just hardcore fuck films, they are about a couple having sex. Instead of having a highly staged sex scene, Tony looks more to find the intimacy that can only be found in a couple, that knows each other emotionally and physically and transfer that onto the screen.

When doing that he also gives us an insight into the couple as well. They aren't just copulating bodies, they are people and he lets us know the people and the couple they form in an interview segment that is intermixed with shots from their sex scene. I found this portion to be fascinating. I'll admit, I don't know much about the gay lifestyle. I've worked with people who are gay and hung out with them after work, but never got to know about their lifestyle. This film shows that it is the same for a gay couple as a straight couple. What they go through, what they like, etc.

Following the interview, the sex scene is presented. After the sex scene is over the final interview portions are shown. Not only has Tony created an interesting film, but he has created a beautiful film to watch as well. I love the look of what he has created, the interview portions are shot on video, with a nice bright look to them. The sex scene itself is shot on film, with nice dark tones, and combined make for a great visual presentation that is pleasant on the eyes.

Scene Synopsis:
Scene 1: Damon DeMarco, Hunter James
Hunter starts the scene out and gives Damon a brief blow job. Then Damon gives Hunter a blow job. Hunter returns to blowing Damon before Damon reciprocates again. Hunter blows Damon again before they lube each other up and Hunter affixes a condom. Damon starts riding Hunter then they turn over so that Hunter can fuck Damon. Hunter also gives Damon a hand job while fucking him. Damon and Hunter give themselves hand jobs then they give each other hand jobs. Hunter cums on himself and he continues to give Damon a hand job. Then Damon masturbates and cums on his stomach.

Parting Thoughts:
Gay or straight, Tony has created a film that has something to offer everyone, even if the sex isn't going to be up your alley, he has still painted an enlightening look into the lives of Damon and Hunter that can entertain, and possibly educate, viewers of all sexual orientations. And he does it all with class and a beautiful visual styling that should please all viewers. After the film is over, don't forget to check out the extras, “The Making of a Love Scene” feature is worth the purchase itself if you are interested in the techniques that go into making a film. Even if you keep it to yourself that you viewed it, I'd give this film a chance, I'm glad that I did.
