Antonio Passolini crafted a vibrant, intricate film complete with extremely erotic sex shows. Every detail from the deep throaty voice of the narrator to the neon wigs to the way a cigarette is smoked adds to the visual masterpiece that is Café Flesh 2. This post-apocalyptic tale looks like a Warhol lithograph escaping into a fantastical wasteland. The sex shows on the stage at Café Flesh are smoothly built into the plot, amplifying the otherworldliness of the movie.

The story takes place after World War III where society is divided into positives and negatives (actually positives are a rarity.) The negatives are destined to a life without carnal pleasures. Sex makes them physically ill. So Jeanna Fine, the charismatic Violet Chinchilla, tries to resurrect a club where positives used to hold sex shows for the negatives. Only problem is she needs to find some positives. Many flashbacks to the original Café Flesh (the original club not the original movie) are interspersed with Violet’s endeavor.

The first scene with Rebecca Lord encapsulates the film’s brilliance. Rebecca Lord, the beautiful, sophisticated French whore, sensually talks about the pleasures of her career. With one exception. She hates fucking the mimes. So who steps onto the stage – the mimes, of course. The mimes put on quite the show with Rebecca as their prop. For someone who hates fucking the mimes she does one hell of a job (she’s so pliable.) The expressions on the mimes’ faces are really comical. I’m smiling just thinking about it.

Stacy Valentine plays an excellent cryogenically frozen virgin. Naturally she gets thawed and devirginized. Vince Voyeur is the culprit, looking ever the stud in his Tarzan getup. Stacy also dreams about making love to the boyfriend she had pre-freezing. She and TT Boy devour each other in this fantastical picnic land. Colors and shapes swirl around their bodies. Stacy really dominates TT Boy – very hot.

The DVD is lacking in the extras arena, especially since there are so many possibilities with this film. Bios on the characters would have been great. Or more on the history that goes with the film. I know I’m asking a lot, but the movie begs for special DVD treatment. Extras aside, Café Flesh 2 has something for everyone – couples, singles, doesn’t matter. If you’re looking for a steamy sex show, head on over to Café Flesh.
