Initial Expectations: Adam & Eve’s comps have been a bit hit or miss for me. For some reason, I can’t get too excited about this one.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: As one would expect from a compilation, the technical aspects vary a little from scene to scene. That said, they don’t vary a lot. Most of the audio is clear and well balanced, and there are very few background noises or balance problems. The video is much the same way. The lighting varies a little, and some scenes are a little softer than others, but it never falls into a feeling of being poorly done.

Music: The music also varies from scene to scene. While some scenes go with heavier porno music, others go for soft country. It’s a nice variety, and helps the scenes to stand apart from each other.

Menus: The main menu is okay, and blends a simple style with a clip of the movie. The chapter menu keeps the style okay, but is so generic with just a clip of the scene and a chapter number that it’s very unimpressive.

The Feature

Adam & Eve goes for a themed compilation with this release. Each scene revolves around sex in or outside a barn. As almost every scene starts, you’re told who’s in the scene.

Scene 1 - Dolorian and Evan Stone

Dolorian and Evan start things out with a scene from Tell Me What You Want. Dolorian starts things out wearing a straw cowboy hat, brown cowboy boots, and panties with her hair pulled back into braids in a barn with Evan. They kiss passionately before she lays back and lets Evan kiss her nipples and rub her pussy. Evan gives Dolorian some hard fingering that she appears to love, and keeps it up as she gags on his cock. Scene 2 - April and Chris Cannon

Chris and April head to the barn to hook up in a scene from Vixxen next. Odds are it’s Freddy Lincoln’s camera work. This was one of his better movies, but with the job Fred does I’m really not sure how he’s lasted this long in porn valley.

Scene 3 - Velvet Rose and Dale DaBone

Velvet and Dale take to the barn in a scene from Rawhide. She kisses him and lets Dale caress her chest a little before dropping down to take his cock into her throat. Dale lets Velvet lay back on the hay for him to bone her before she climbs up to ride him cowgirl style and reverse cowgirl style. This is a pretty good scene. There’s nice chemistry between Velvet and Dale, and the camera work seems nicely balanced. The main thing that stuck out to me, however, was Dale keeping his long underwear on throughout the entire scene. I was also struck by Dale’s tattoos being hidden, which would seem to fit in fairly well with a western styled scene. This is a nicely done scene.

Scene 4 - Nina Ferrari, Julian, and Colt Steele

Colt and Julian team up on Nina in a scene from Whispering Hearts. She lets Colt tongue her twat while she sucks Julian’s shaft, which gives a nice view of that hilarious tattoo of Julian’s ex-wife Jill Kelly on his stomach. For the most part, this was a pretty average scene. As usual with Nicholas Steele’s movies, there isn’t a lot of chemistry through the scene, and it feels overly tame. The only thing that helps this move from an average scene into a borderline hot scene is Nina’s enthusiasm throughout it.

Scene 5 - Felecia and Silvia Saint

The girls hook up in a scene from Devoured next. After coming back from a ride in equestrian dress, blonde Silvia and brunette Felecia relax with a bottle of wine and a kiss. They start stripping each other down to check out each other’s tits, and keep going on a blanket. This is a pretty hot scene. It goes without saying how good looking both these ladies are, and they seem to enjoy themselves nicely. I’m used to fairly cold scenes from Silvia, and she’s pretty warm here. There’s a nice balance between the girls, and the scene moves along nicely. This is a nice scene.

Scene 6 - Shaena Steele and Billy Glide

Bad Penny turns up next, with Shaena taking Billy into the barn by the hand wearing a black sportsbra and athletic shorts. He quickly breaks her tits out as she gropes around his shorts, and tries to talk her out of sex as she drops his shorts to the ground and starts sucking his cock. This is an extremely likeable scene. Yes, it’s very limited with only one position, but I still couldn’t help but like it. This is a simple scene that really worked for me.

Scene 7 - Nina Hartley and Dale DaBone

Superstar Nina takes on Dale in a scene from Hard Bound next. Scene 8 - Cheyenne Silver, Randy Spears, and Johnni Black

Scene 9 - Monica Mayhem, Phoenix Ray, and Dillion Day

Things return to Whispering Hearts for Dillion Day to take on Monica and Phoenix. Monica and Phoenix, both nice looking blondes, try to help each other relax with a nice naked massage while sharing a chair after washing off a horse. As they kiss and caress they’re found by Dillion Day, who joins in the oral love-fest. They move on with Monica in the middle of the sandwich both taking it from behind and on her back while Phoenix gets a little tongue action and plays a bit with Monica. Phoenix also takes her turn missionary style, but doesn’t give anything back while receiving. The girls finally share a decent facial to end the scene.

I’m not sure why, but this scene just didn’t do much for me. There’s some decent chemistry and average enthusiasm. Perhaps it’s that Phoenix had a slightly standoffish feeling to her by not getting into the action other than with a little oral until almost the end of the scene. The facial was easily the best part of this scene for me.

Scene 10 - Cheyenne Silver, Barret Moore, Shanna McCullough, Anita Cannibal, and Johnni Black

The final scene also comes from The Quick & The Hard. “Indian” Cheyenne gets it on with “cowgirls” Barret, Johnni, Shanna, and Anita. They work the loving all around, and go from pair and threesome to pair and threesome working each other over with tongues and fingers. By the end of the scene, everybody seems to have gotten a taste of everybody else.

This scene was a little disappointing, especially when one looks a the cast. With the exception of Anita Cannibal, I’m normally impressed with everybody in this scene. The girls do a good job of working over each other and changing things up, but some of the technical matters weren’t too much to my liking. The music was overpowering and felt very seventies-ish. There were also very few close-ups, which I also enjoy to some extent. Keeping with the western time period, there were no toys, and as much as I enjoy toys in all girl scenes, I’m really happy that Adam & Eve paid attention to the little details like this.

Barnyard Babes is a nice little compilation. There’s nothing overly special here, but it is nice to see that Adam & Eve isn’t limiting themselves to just their recent releases for this one. They also vary the scene from the very simple couples scene through threesomes, and even an orgy. There’s some nice depth to the compilation, but it stays extremely couples friendly and never gets close to nastiness. In fact, the only scenes that might not appeal to most couples here are the two lesbian scenes. On the other side of things, there aren’t many really great scenes in compilation that really help it out. Dolorian’s would probably be the best scene here, and Shaena’s is also a personal favorite but not one that I’m sure a lot of people will like to the same degree. The other fault to Barnyard Babes is its lack of information. Yes, the cast is nicely listed in all but one scenes, but with the range of scenes here there should be at least one scene that viewers should really love, and if you really love one scene in a porno odds are you’re going to want to see others in that porno. Giving the name of the movie each scene comes from should give a high probability that the people who love that scene or two will check out the original movie. If they have to work for it, and it’s not always easy figuring out where scenes come from, then there’s a good chance they won’t (along with a chance that the movie they check out instead will come from somebody else). Barnyard Babes is a pretty good compilation with a good mix of sex scenes.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Amateur Angels 19, Camera Club, Dirty Girlz, Fit to be Tied, Over 30 and Dirty, and Tell Me What You Want 5. The photo gallery lasts about three and a half minutes, and takes about five seconds to pan around or zoom in on each snapshot. It’s a style that I really detest, and I couldn’t get out of it fast enough. There’s also weblinks and a bonus scene.

Bonus Scene - Temptation and Lee Stone

Lee and Temptation’s scene comes from Amateur Angels 9. Temptation, a brunette with a little bleach streak who reminded me a little of Kaylynn at first glance, starts her scene out sitting on Lee’s lap and kissing him. This is a pretty good scene. Lee and Temptation seem to be nicely into each other, and both put out some good energy. I will admit to being a little distracted by Temptations tits. I’m not sure they even moved a quarter inch through the entire scene. It’s a good scene, but it just wasn’t great.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, Adam & Eve’s DVDs can be found online for between $8 and $25, with several stores offering this line of DVDs for around $15. At the low end this is a pretty good buy. There isn’t any really great sex here, but there aren’t any stinkers either. The technical aspects are nicely done, and there’s some decent effort put into the extras. This is an above average compilation.

Note to Adam & Eve: It’s nice that you took the effort to let the viewer know who the performers are in each scene. You might get a few extra sales, however, if you’d also let them know where the scenes come from. Please let them know both before the scene and in the chapter menu.
