Barbarella opens with Riley Steele disrobing in zero gravity to a great song with wickedly funny lyrics, setting the tone for the rest of the movie. After a cameo by Tera Patrick as the President ~ Dianthus, Barbarella meets up with Mylo and Nylo. They are played by Evan Stone and Eric Masterson who give us a comedy “one-two” punch.

After the b/b/g sex scene with Mr's Stone and Masterson, Barbarella meets Mark Hand, played by Alec Knight. As Mark Hand, Mr Knight declares, “...and I am devastatingly handsome.” and that he is! Barbarella proceeds to give Mr Hand a blow job in a scene that will also give fans of 'furries' a treat as Alec Knight is dressed in a wolf costume during it.

After crashing her ship Barbarella meets the last of the Ornithanthropes ~ Pygar, played with brilliant subtlety and innocence by Michael Vegas. Mr Vegas as Pygar explains he has gone blind because “my little angel and I took flight one too many times”. This is just one example of the witty, dryly delivered comedic gems to be found throughout the movie all but guaranteeing this script will be nominated for awards next year. Unlike in the original film, Pygar and Barbarella do not have sex. That was confusing and very disappointing as there seemed to be a palpable, sweet chemistry between Ms Steele and Mr Vegas and the relationship between Barbarella and Pygar is both sexual and a key plot point in the original movie.

The next sex scene gives us a horned Asa Akira as the Great Tyrant with Rachel Madori in a throne room of sorts. While Ms Akira performs oral on Ms Madori a trio of slaves including Kiki Daire, Selma Sins and Jessica Some also frolic a few feet away. Once the trio has left, Ms Akira and Ms Madori move to the footstool to continue the g/g sex scene. When they have finished the Concierge, played by James Bartholet, leads Barbarella into the throne room where she finds out the Great Tyrant has taken the angel, Pygar, prisoner and is having one of her henchmen threaten to cut bits off him. In attempting to protect Pygar, Barbarella ends up in a prison cell.

Adult entertainment legend Ron Jeremy makes a cameo as Dildano, leader of the revolution, who plots the death of the Great Tyrant with Barbarella. Barbarella is immediately caught by the Concierge and the famous/infamous Excessive Machine scene is parodied in great fun. The Concierge admits to being Durand Durand when Barbarella breaks his machine leading the two of them to conspire to kill the Great Tyrant, the Black Queen of Sogo. James Bartholet delights as the campy, evil Durand Durand.

Durand Durand leads Barbarella to the Great Tyrant's Chamber of Dreams so that she can kill the Black Queen. First, Barbarella gets distracted by Kurt Lockwood and Chanell Heart having sex in a side chamber. After the sex scene is over Barbarella returns her attention to killing the Great Tyrant but only awakens her. The two talk and find they have been double crossed by Durand Durand and the Mathmos of the Dream Chamber is going to kill them both. As soon as the Great Tyrant realizes the Mathmos is on the verge of killing them she saves them both by launching an escape pod. After the pod safely lands the Great Tyrant and Barbarella join for the last sex scene of the movie. The movie closes with the famous line “An angel has no memory” delivered by Asa Akira's Great Tyrant rather than Michael Vegas's Pygar.

As an Axel Braun / Wicked pictures release one can expect a better than average parody to begin with. Barbarella does not disappoint. The sets, costumes, jewelry and music are all the very best one will see in adult entertainment. The script was well done and funny in a not too campy way. With such veteran performers the sex scenes are, of course, top notch. The acting was all incredibly well done. Even with such high expectations I found 3 performances stood out. James Bartholet's Concierge/Durand Durand had me laughing out loud more than once. Michael Vegas's Pygar was subtle, innocent perfection. Riley Steele was the megawatt star of this parody. I believe Ms Steele's performance of Barbarella was more charismatic and captivating that Jane Fonda's.

So, the question is to torrent, rent or buy? If you torrent (steal) then you suck and I hope you get a computer virus. If you enjoy parodies and the work of any of the stars in Barbarella you can not go wrong renting this movie. If you are a dedicated fan of Riley Steele this is a must have for your collection. If you purchase the 2 DVD set you get a lot of bonuses, including: The Some Dude / Asa Akira scene from Hotel No Tell 2 from Wicked Pictures and Jonathan Morgan, the Riley Steele / Jessica Drake scene from Snow White XXX from Wicked Pictures and Axel Braun, the Ash Hollywood / Michael Vegas scene in Right Amount of Wrong from Wicked Pictures, a glam photo gallery of pictures from Barbarella and promo trailers. I recommend renting it at the very least. Another option would be to sign up for a Wicked.com membership and watch it there.
