The 1970's were an era of liberation as the sexual revolution was in full force. It was also the era of disco and also, where porn flicks were not only moving with the times, but as well, making strides to be way ahead of the times.

An example of this is this wonderfully made 1976 porn parody "Alice in Wonderland." It was not only a product of the 1970's but was also ahead of its time as one of the first porn parodies of popular classic stories and popular classic films. It would influence the future of porn flicks in the years ahead.

If you have read the Lewis Carroll story and have seen the numerous adaptions into film and TV, you already know the story very well. However, this flick has freely adapted the story, with noticeable sex scenes and plenty of music. But this flick is not for children, but strictly, "For Adults Only".

Alice is a librarian who has just turned 18 years old. She is unsure of her potential in the world. She also fights off the amorous advances of her boyfriend William. One day, she sees a rabbit running and follows him into the mirror (looking glass in the story) to Wonderland. While there, Alice lets her inhibitions go and takes great advantage of all the uninhibited sensual pleasures that Wonderland has to offer. She lets herself go to enjoy having all kinds of uninhibited sex with all of Wonderland's citizen's while she continues pursuing the rabbit, who she later sees at the Mad Hatter's tea party, and again, she lets her inhibitions go. However, she arouses the ire of the Queen of Hearts after she's caught sleeping with her husband, the King. The queen puts Alice on trial for her life. Will she lose her head? or Will she be able to escape? Watch this flick to see it.

This was the debut feature of Kristine De Bell, who had just done a photo layout in Playboy prior to appearing in this flick. In the wake of this flick's release, she has appeared in numerous films and TV shows. The rest of the cast seem to be the elite of porn flicks from that time period.

This freely adapted version of the classic Lewis Carroll story is FUN and also, very entertaining. It is also well acted by its cast. The flick also has wonderfully crafted musical numbers. Miss De Bell sings her songs very good and even the rest of the cast sing very well. It is also wonderfully plotted. This flick delivers the goods for both porn and musical film lovers. Again, this film represented the decade that it was made in and also, it was way ahead of its time as this is one of the first porn parody flicks and in its wake, many porn parody flicks of popular mainstream films and also, classic stories that have been adapted into mainstream films have been made. When released, though a lot of it was edited out for the MPAA to give this film the R rating, it made ninety million dollars against a budget of half a million. In the 1980's, when the home video boom was taking off, scenes that were cut were reedited back into the flick and it became a popular porn video store rental. I became aware of this flick as a teenager, and I have always wanted to see it. I did when a close friend gave me a DVD of this as a gift. I actually enjoyed this flick. Again, it's fun and entertaining. The DVD has the film looking pristine, clean, fresh and new, with the musical numbers sounding very crisp and clean. I was also overjoyed that one aspect of my life has now been fulfilled.

This classic freely adapted version of the classic story is a very entertaining and well-made flick that can be enjoyed again and again as it is very good, and also, FUN.
