Ninas been around for quite a while, having begun her porn career back in 1984, and shes still going strong. Shes got 933 titles in her movie career (according to IAFD, although not all of them are sex scenes), so picking a best of must be quite a challenge. However, the earliest scene included on The Best of Nina Hartley only goes back to 1997, so theres about 13 years seriously unrepresented. While Ive enjoyed Nina over the years, I have a fondness for some of her early scenes and the earlier part of her career, and it would have been a more interesting compilation to me if scenes from these years were included, as well as a bit more interracial. That said, if you enjoy Nina more in her later career, youll probably enjoy this two disc set from Adam & Eve Pictures, which runs around 6 hours total. The discs are fullscreen, with some scenes anamorphic widescreen, and extras include a bonus scene (from Play It Again Samantha), photo gallery, trailers, and web info. [read the full review]

Description 'Sexploration' might sound exciting and adventurous to you. But this movie is mostly examples of what a few couples might do in their bedrooms. General Impression Although there is some soft instructional talk, accompanied by twinkly music, this is basically a peek into the neighbors' bedroom windows. The instructional aspect is very basic, almost remedial. There is an audience for this movie -- people who are inexperienced or timid about sex may find it reassuring and helpful. A few good points are made, but the basic value of the movie is it's healthy, relaxed, playful tone. Sex Shayla teases her real-life beau Anthony, playing with his dick and nibbling at it through his silk boxers. There's some nice, sexy tease here. Nina sits on the sidelines making commentary, which is always a bit jarring to me. I would have liked it if she had not been in the room interrupting the couple, and had overdubbed the commentary later. Initial Reaction: Its okay, but feels more like a porno than an educational feature. Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants to be more comfortable with sex Who Should Avoid It: Anybody looking for exploration beyond vaginal sex Audio /Video Quality: Although the audio has a few spots where the balance is off a little, most of the time its very clear and easy to understand. The video is also good. It has a few shadow problems here and there, but I think theyre mostly there to help the mood out. Theres just slightly more grain than normal, but it isnt enough to really interfere.
