Nina Hartley's Guide to Couples Sexploration Review

Well I wonder what Nina has in store for me this time. I have seen a couple of her other instructional videos and it has been a mixed bag so I'll keep my hopes up that this is one of the good one's.

The Run Down

     I liked this one! As per the standard with Nina's instructional video's this walks the fine line between a porno and an instructional video but I think any "teaching" video worth it's salt has to to keep the viewers attention. In the intro Nina speaks about how humans are visual and learn most things by watching and sex should be no exception. The entire video is very gentle, honest and relaxed. This would be a great video for couples new to sex or the very inhibited. It's true sex education in a encouraging way.

Nina encourages safe sex, mutual respect and discussion what what feels good between partners.

Scene 1

Shayla and her husband of 10 years, Anthony enjoy slow, passionate kissing and foreplay and eventually intercourse. Nina sits off to one side and offers suggestions to viewers and a non-intrusive narration. She offers gems of advice about how womyn need to feel admired sexually in order to open up and really enjoy themselves and that lovemaking is grown up play time.

Scene 2

Nina and her friend Running Horse ( a big black man with dreadlocks)
Running Horse offers some philosophy on the beauty of sex and that sex keeps people happy. He suggests that if people had more sex there would be no war. (I wonder if I should forward this DVD to Bush)

Nina and Running Horse kind of teach by example. They kiss, fondle, roll around and even have a little fun with food. He gives Nina an orgasm but Running Horse himself does not cum.

They discuss afterward that with all the crew and cameras he just didn't get hard and that's O.K. It's about what feels good not necessarily about penetration. I thought this was an important point for couples to hear too and was pleased this scene was not edited out or re-shot for the orgasm.

Scene 3
Moments

In my opinion this was a little odd. Why insert a scene in an instructional video?

Nina and Joel Lawrence start arguing...blah blah....they instead end up having sex. They cum, lay together for a moment then it leads into another round on the floor with the pop shot coming on Nina's ass.

The moral being that they had been married too long and forgotten how to be sexy for each other. They kiss, dance and nasty talk each other and re-kindle the passion.

Ahhhh...how sweet.

I Would Recommend this DVD to

This would be a great DVD for those couples that are a little inhibited, or new to sex. Or even for someone looking for something non-threatening to spice up their sex life.

My Overall Impression

     I think this was one of the better Nina Hartley instructional video's. I am even considering sending it to a newly married friend of mine. :-) The sets were basic and the audio a little muffled at times but overall it was a good video and serves it's purpose to remove some of the mystery to sex for newcummers.
