Any fan of Wakefield Poole is going to want to pick up this limited edition Blu-ray set before it is gone. All four of the films included on the release (Bible!, Bijou, Boys in the Sand, and Moving!) look absolutely gorgeous and sound excellent. Gorilla Factory Productions has loaded the three-disc set with extras as well. This release is worth every penny. [read the full review]

review from 6/11/2016:
Bijou is a great adult film from Wakefield Poole. There isn't a story in the traditional sense of the term, however, Bijou is wonderfully constructed to create a great viewing experience where different viewers will walk away with different beliefs of what just happened. Despite being a gay adult film, viewers of all orientations should find something of value within the film. Vinegar Syndrome has done a great job with the release of Bijou. [read the full review]

Flash's
review from 1/13/2018:
The Wakefield Poole Collection collects three of Poole's gay adult movies along with several of Poole's short films into one volume. The set contains Poole's feature-length movies Boys in the Sand, Bijou, and Boys in the Sand 2 along with his short films Andy, Water Movie, Roger, and Freedom Day Parade. The collection offers a nice view of Poole's work with his best film, Bijou, included on the release and his landmark first film, Boys in the Sand. Mercury Releasing has done a good job with their release of the movies on this release with generally good audio and video. [read the full review]

review from 2/12/2004:
Description This is a two-disc release of three of Wakefield Poole's pioneering feature films from 1971 to 1986, plus several of his short films of the era, a long interview, and other extras. General Impression For me, this had great value as an historical artifact, partly because I can remember this time period. I was 12 in 1969, when Poole began filming. I lived an hour from San Francisco, and went there regularly, picking up copies of the Berkeley Barb and soaking up the ambience. Our junior high buried a time capsule in 1970, to be opened in the year 2000. We dropped into the capsule a pair of bellbottoms and a Jacksons album, among other things. I was born a moment too late to be on the cusp of many of the changes that took place, but I observed them anyway. I had always heard that Deep Throat was the first feature length hard-core movie.
