Once in a while, in the world of adult videos, a relatively small company can craft a masterpiece that will put it good stead with industry leaders such as Vivid and Wicked Pictures. Last year, Sex-Z-Pictures turned out a movie worthy of critical acclaim, Corruption. Now, director Eli Cross has shown that lightning can strike twice, thanks to a different approach, with a dark-techno future thriller, Upload. It tells a story of an a Digital Security Agency agent, Cassandra Cray (played by Eva Angelina), who is living life on the edge, and her partner, Agent Michael Born, (Derrick Pierce), attempting to stop a super-computer virus (known as Enigma) that will wreak havoc on society. Epic is a one word description for this one fans, there is so much to see and excellent performances all around from Eva Angelina, Hillary Scott, Derrick Pierce, and Eli Cross. Description This is a sci-fi feature without any dialogue. Flick Shagwell is taken over by an alien life form, which then wanders L.A. at night, feeding off people's sexual energy and their life energies. General Impression This has a very promising plot idea, not fully realized. The first scene is very well-filmed, with decent special effects. The edgy, ominous music fit the slightly apprehensive mood of the scene and I enjoyed the lively sex. But as the same type of music is used loudly in scene after scene, it becomes repetitious and mechanical. As part of the plot, the people are mesmerized into having sex. The idea of slightly glazed-over or zombie-like people fucking, along with the loud techno music, causes a loss of some of the heat. This was a feature movie, but because of the way the movie was set up, no character development was done. I would have liked to have seen the characters of the people a bit - maybe joking around, maybe arguing, maybe being buffoons, whatever -- at least for a minute or two, before being controlled by the alien. It's nice to see Elegant Angel expanding to the various types of films that they are releasing and allowing their product to be enjoyed by a larger viewing audience. The Visitor is a unique film in the adult industry and although viewers just interested only in balls to the wall nasty sex may be ultimately disappointed with the final product, viewers that like porn that can entertain them beyond just the sex will find this to be a fun film to watch.
