There was a time when I eagerly rented Private tapes -- but it's been a few years. Once I discovered Christoph Clark's take on EuroBabe decadence and hard sex, the shortcomings of Private's "house style" were painfully obvious. The cheesy dubbing and voice-overs, the detachment caused by cameras held too far away from the action combined with extremely choppy edits that kill any sense of natural flow to a scene, the typically gorgeous all-natural women whose inherent sexuality seemed muted by the slick, formal production values: Even though some great performers have made their entry to porn through Private productions, almost any gonzo fare is hotter. The stuff is just dead in the water. This comp of gang bang scenes is a must-to-avoid. There's a funny glimpse of a younger Steve Holmes wearing only some goofy-looking briefs -- I laughed really hard for a second -- but otherwise, not much occasion for arousal.
